Best part was when datsyuk made that one time pass to zetterberg and scored against nashville, and melrose claimed zetterberg should have had a penalty for tripping the guy with his knee. Idiot. I agree with you that some of the overboard reactions aren't needed, but Melrose clearly is what you described (anti-Wings) and he blatantly goes out of his way to show it. Once again, I don't care that he picked the Avs (or against the Wings EVERY time), but a guy on national TV should use evidence to support his pick and not some grudge against the Red Wings. I have no problem with "experts'" critiques or finding flaws in the Red Wings, but use some stats and at least back up the claim with more than "I just don't like Detroit." Just because he was a coach and a former player and he's on ESPN, his opinion holds special merit? I predicted 7 of the 8 1st Round series correctly, maybe I should become a hockey analyst too? Seriously folks, he and Pierre McGuire are no different, they get paid to make controversial predictions and statements, and it works when people get up in arms about it.
