Anyone else catch Malkin elbow Brierre in the head? I'm so sick of him, he always does these subtle dirty tactics and ALWAYS gets with with it, just like kicking the back of Mara's legs in the Rangers series.

So what? Good on him if he gets away with it. This is hockey. He's trying to get under his opponents' skin, not kill them.

there's a difference between playing gritty and playing dirty, which i think malkin is.

Exactly my point. I'd bet he'd be singing a different tune if Malkin done that to Dats or Hank. What annoys me about it is that they go and call a soft penalty on Hatcher almost immediately after it.

I have'nt put too much thought into it but, is there no way that some sort of sensory device can be placed either along the goal line, on the post's, inside the puck etc that could accurately tell if the puck has crossed the line, regardless of whether there's bodies on top, gloves in the way etc etc.

Tennis has cyclops to determine if a ball is in or out is there nothing similar that hockey could use? lol

That is SOOO crazy that you mention that. A few days ago me and my hockey buddy were talking and I was talking to him about how I would LOVE to put a sensor along the goal line and then another along the bottom of the crossbar. And then put something in the hockey puck so that if there was ANY question they could use some kind of imaging in TO to see if it is TRULY a goal. Too bad I'm not smart enough to do that kinda s***.

I'm just surprised with all the technology we have today the NHL couldn't do SOMETHING with sensors, as you mentioned Tennis has cyclops!

The Flyers have had some pretty tough calls on them in this game. You have to respect the fact that they have a tie game here.

I'd be more concerned about winning the Cup if the Flyers beat the Pens in this series.

Why would you want anyone to play dirty? Gritty is great, dirty doesn't belong.

Maltby is dirty. Does he not belong?

If anyone says he isn't I'll puke. He consistently gives little cheap shots to get under his opponents' skin. He doesn't hurt anyone, just their game. I have no problems with this. He's good for his team and bad for his opponents.

As much as I dislike the Flyers and would love to face the Pens in the Finals...

I gotta feel bad for them. That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. I give them credit for hanging in the game.

I think you really have gritty and dirty all screwed up. No offense, but do you play or have you ever played hockey?

If you have you'll realize that the little hacks and little whacks, stuff like that is players playing gritty.

Hacking someone with the intention of hurting them is playing DIRTY! Atleast thats how I see it, after playing hockey for 20 years.

Anything that is intent to harm someone is dirty. The little cheap shots that happen are just gritty players getting under peoples skin.

Yeah I have but without a doubt not close to the extent many here at LGW would have being in Australia.

By your description, which I don't necessarily disagree with, Malkin is NOT a dirty player.
