One suggestion: Joke Book....put it down.

Anyways, I dont play golf. Why the need for a teams fans to repeatedly bring up golfing in the off-season is beyond me.

You're not funny or original.

The fact that the Stars are no longer in the playoffs has no bearing on Franzen embellishing.

I wonder if you say this stuff and then are one of the ones who make 100 threads about how classy Red Wings fans are.

Ozzie was embellishing, but whether Franzen was or wasn't isn't for you to decide. It's sad that someone who likes Ribeiro or Modano is complaining about another team diving. Likewise, it's sad that Crosby has the audacity to call someone else a diver.

If someone sucker punched Crosby the same way, he'd probably lay on the ice for minutes, only to have Bettman rush out on the ice with a cold towel to help him.

And I've never made a thread about us being classy fans. That's irrelevant in my book. In fact, I can't think of any team in sports who I can say with certainty has classy fans. How would you even judge that?

Oh, and the joke was actually funny. I thought so at least. <_<

I'm not saying Ozzie is or isn't diving, but making the argument that Ozzie is embellishing only because he's being repeatedly ran isn't a good justification. That's like saying, I only steal from people because other people steal from me. It doesn't make it right for either party.

It's more like saying "People were stealing from me and the cop who was looking right at it didn't do anything so I decided to get his attention the next time it happened."

I'm sure there are posts out there about Cindy diving, but most of the wings fans here never said that the diving would give him the cup, what we are worried about is Bettass GIVING the cup to Cindy because he's the "POSTERBOY of the NEW NHL" If Cindy is worried about our diving, he's in trouble.

1. Im not complaining about anyone diving. All I said was they both dove. I couldn't care less if they dive everytime they are looked at. It doesn't matter to me. It's not my team.

2. I dont care about what Crosby said. I never quoted him. What he said has nothing to do with what I said.

I just get a little tired of people(not you in specific) who complain about Crosby diving and Bettman's conspiracy against the Wings(mainly last round). And then Osgood just fell into the net causing him to spill to the ice. Or that the impact of his head on the pipes must have thrown him off balence. He dove. And, Franzen.....well, he....he just had a concussion. He embellished.

Riberio dove/embellished in Montreal. Modano will embellish from time to time. Turco will push the net off the moorings. Im not blind to what my team does/did.

My problem isn't the fact that your players dove/embellished, cause I know it's sort of a part of the game now. My problem is people not having a problem with it. Just making excuses like the ones cited above.

Ozzie's dive had no effect on the outcome of yesterday's game. Sykora had no business being back there trying to act tough, and he was trying to start something. The last thing we needed was for Ozzie to retaliate and do something stupid which might get him suspended.

It's been a while since the Wings have been in this position, so it's only natural for other fans to start calling our players divers, because people hate the Wings, and are even more hateful that we're this close to the Cup.

The reason that we've won the last 2 games had nothing to do with diving. If other people are blind to what has really happened in this series, then so be it. Frankly, we don't give a damn.

Im not attempting to take credit away or anything like that. I understand these dives and whatnots had little to zero effect on the outcomes. Detroit has been playing pretty flawless. I just dont like to see this stuff, ever. You know?

The mantra of "everyone does it. we need to, as well", needs to be destroyed soon. But, for now everyone does it and will continue to.

I hope this series goes 7. I just want to be entertained.

Fair enough, but you have to fight fire with fire sometimes. The divealanche made this into an artform in the late 90's, and other teams have borrowed its success.

Getting rid of diving to make the game more credible is like bringing back old school goons and ridding the league of European players. It just isn't going to happen, so you'll have to watch the sport as it is.

TBH, its really sad and I hope the league really does a better job at calling the diving penalties. Honestly, if the league would enforce the diving penalty more frequently the embellishment would go away very quickly.

I think it was a great move by the league to start penalizing these dives, but the problem is that they are so difficult to judge it is almost pointless. Players simply have learned to do it better. I liked the suggestion about large fines being imposed for those who are guilty, but the problem is that it is so subjective of a call that there are bound to be many mistakes made.

However, for those dives which can in no way be construed as being legal falls I suggest a list be compiled of the perpetrators similar to that which exists with drunk drivers in Ontario (this list is posted on the internet in order to humiliate these criminals for the rest of their existence). This list of players would then be posted at every arena in the league, maybe even on the boards. Every time one of these "criminals" dives again their name is re-printed in an even larger font!

The CBC feed from directly above clearly shows Ozzie getting run into in the chest/shoulder, next to the net that could easily knock someone over, especially if they are not expecting it. Would rather have seen Ozzie pop back up and go after him, but there you are.

And for all the talk about how tough Lilja is, he sure did a whole lot of nuthin about his goalie being run into. Don't particularly care for Foote, but he would not have let that go unanswered.

No, its absolutely 100% isn't. It's exactly like the example I gave. In yours, the losing party didn't do anything wrong.

As it turns out, it's not exactly like either example since in yours he does the same thing back to the guy, which he didn't. In reality it's more like Sykora ran into Osgood and then he fell down. But now we're "arguing" for the sake of arguing.

Agreed, but mine is more accurate (like 55% to your 45%). :P
