If we are to weaken our line up in an effort to retaliate to their dirty play then they already win that battle.

I think he will, so we have someone to watch out for Osgood and the others

I guarantee, as fervently and strongly as I possibly can, that there will be no lineup changes. As sure as the sun rises in the East, McCarty won't be in the lineup, barring an injury that we don't know about.

I'm wondering, with what we saw last game was any indication, if we will see McCarty tonight, and if so, who should we take out?

Only if someone gets hurt will we see McCarty.

I'm starting to think Franzen didn't even have a head issue in the first place, if he didn't wouldn't they have just said an upper body injury? I say this because it has a lot of the Pens playing dirty going after his head, which gives up more pps and momentuim. I highly doubt we see Mac tonight, maybe if it continues and we still win in game 4 it would be nice to see make and Downey.

I would like to see him play at least one game in the Finals (so he can get his name on the cup, again). He has helped us in the earlier rounds and it would be a nice story!

For sentimental reasons, if the Wings go up 3-0 in the series, I'd love to see Aaron Downey play in game 4. That's not the smart hockey decision, but man, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't love that.

Honestly I agree, if the series is 3-0 the way the Wings have handled the Pens what is 3-5 minutes of ice time for the guy gonna hurt, seriously he earned that for beating on Lappy.

If it doesn't happen though I understand, this is the playoffs you play to win, not to pat a guy on the back!

I understand where you're coming from, but this would cost someone like Helm a spot, which is not fair since Helm has been the playoff player.

He played in Game 1. His name will be on the cup if they win.

Not only is it not fair -- it just doesn't make sense. A guy like Helm can play solid minutes for a fourth-liner and generate some good chances and a lot of energy. Why give that up just so Mac, who has been brutal lately, can have 3-5 minutes of...well, brutal play?

Got to agree with that. Unfortunately there's no chance, and even if there was an injury, it would be Mac before Downs. Aaron played and practiced his arse off all year, so for sentimental reasons it would be nice to see him get in one playoff game. Alot of people on these boards hate on the guy, but along with Drake, these guys brought a physical presence that the Wings have lacked for the last couple of years, and one would be a fool to think they didn't have some contribution on the rest of the guys on the team stepping up their physical play a notch.

Correct, he earned his one game cup name requirement so I would not look to see him for the rest of the playoffs barring an injury to another player.

I'd love to see Downey get in, but that ain't going to make it happen. I wish it would. I'm actually kinda down on Mac for bumping Downie off the roster. I loved Mac - but he squandered everything he was given, and Downey worked hard for us all year. He deserves to play in a playoff game - but that isn't going to make it happen. I don't think Mac or Helm or Downie or Cheli being in or out will affect the outcome of this series at all, but I wish they couls all get in.
