Antilles328 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Here are Datsyuk's Stats for the playoffs. 9 G 10 A +13 Home: 0 G 5 A +4 Away: 9 G 5A +9 Not sure why Datsyuk is such a road warrior but the Pens better watch out tonight. I'm guessing it has something to do with the last change option and the other team try to put their best line against anyone but HDZ. When this happens Datsyuk gets out against inferior players and has his own offensive party. Datsyuk at home = Defense Datsyuk on road = Offense

Our best defensive line is with Dats and Zetts. The other teams best offensive line will not be competing with them thus wouldn't it give this line the puck more? irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 its because babcock just lets the guys go out and play hard every shift, he doesnt worry about match ups because he doesnt get last change

When he has the last change Babcock uses HDZ defensively and puts them out on the ice to stop the other team from scoring goals. This isnt an option when they are playing on the road so HDZ gets away from playing defensively and opens up the offense.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 All that, and I'm convinced Datsyuk enjoys humiliating people, and where better to do so than at their home arena?
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 All that, and I'm convinced Datsyuk enjoys humiliating people, and where better to do so than at their home arena? You know, I get the same vibe. I think Datsyuk ENJOYS embarassing people like Turco and whatnot. Not to mention all teams need a boost on the road, and maybe he and Zetterberg have some sort of arrangement that one of them will work harder at home and the other on the road. All that aside, I hope Pav dominates tonight.
union drone 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 It is interesting, however, that Dats has equal number of assists at home and on the road. Perhaps he looks more for the shot on the road, as opposed to at home. Another thought (someone please back me up with some stats): Games 1 & 2 are at home for every series. Teams focus more on shutting down Dats early in the series, which leads to a loss (Wings 8-0 combined in games 1 &2). The opponent makes adjustments at home (perhaps focusing on a different player, perhaps Z), only to get lit up by Pavel. Thoughts?
