up2here 41 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Giving up when your team is one game away from winning the cup? Wow. Actually giving up now would be better than giving up after they were to lose.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 The NHL needs to straighten a lot out, but it's becoming more popular, more viewers, etc. When Bettman leaves and a capable person takes his place, the league will return to glory.

Misty Belle 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 at some point when discussing Mr Bettman we need, as a collective group, ie. hockey fans from North America and beyond, to start talking about the owners of the NHL teams. They too are culpable, for they employ him. If the ownership of the NHL wasn't satisfied with how the game was being run then something would've been done along time ago. It's the NHL owners and Board of Governors as a collective group that are culpable as well.
Bannedforlife 403 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 That's what the board is for...so fans can ***** about their frustrations. My personal one is people defending some of the hacks that officiate these games. If you can honestly say that some of O'Hallorans' disallowed goal calls are 'pretty god damn fair' then all I have to ask you is: What color is the sky in your world? Wrong. LGW is the place for people who love the Red Wings to talk about their shared interest. Lets Go Pens is the place to ***** about your frustrations. And yes, there have been some questionable calls this post season, however, 1) Thats hockey, and thats life in general. Get used to it. 2) It goes both ways. Our guys haven't been saints either. 3) WE ARE WINNING!!! I could understand if we had a goal called back in triple overtime of game 7, but ultimately, those calls have turned out to be inconsequential to our season. You are sounding a lot more like Crosby than a lot of the posters here. Peace of mind is just a mouse click (to another site) away. Listen. I know you don't know who I am since you've been here, what? 4 days? But I'm usually the last person to participate in the regularly scheduled freak outs over every single loss, injuries, sports announcers, phantom calls, trade deadline deals, Sidney Crosby, and any other reason a person could think of to jump off the bandwagon. Life's too short for that s***, and life's too short for this thread. Enjoy your stay, which will probably be over in another 4 days.

You are correct when you say that the calls have been inconsequential to our season. Thus far. Our boys have shown remarkable resilience in not letting this crap get them down and out of their game. If, however, you think that just because I have been signed up for four days that I am not entitled to an opinion, you are mistaken. For the record - while I did sign up four days ago I have been lurking for about three or four seasons. Not that I really care if that makes a difference to you or not. This would be a pretty boring board if difference of opinion was not allowed.

truebladearmy 33 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 This game no longer resembles the sport I grew up loving. This has become a game dominated by a greedy group of owners. A league headed by a lawyer dressed in a clown suit. Tonight was a shining example of how this league works. You whine and show up the officials and the league cowers and obeys. They have their annointed one. How many times were the wings interfered with tonight? The penguins goal (according to the rule as seen in this series) should have been waved off (after all, the guys stick interfered with Ozzie). Tackling sumo etc after the wings took the lead. Crosby ***** antics after the game is over. This is no longer hockey this is some *** s*** on ice that looks like hockey, but is not hockey. I love the Wings, but Im done with the NHL. f*** these guys. I know a drunken rant when I see one
NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I know a drunken rant when I see one Well, I had a few ginger ales, but I think the points discussed are real. Over reacted? Maybe a little. Is what I said true? Absolutely. Im glad Im not the only one who has a couple pops while watching hockey.
Probert 5 For Fighting 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 You know what I'm done with? I'm done with people who are done with anything that remotely dents the embodiment of perfection known as our Detroit Redwings. f*** those guys!
Yzermania 156 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Well I don't blame him for his frustrations. It wasn't like this 5 years ago. I know it wasn't! We got eliminated first round 5 years ago. Ok being a smartass aside, i know what he means but anyone who can make theirselves be "done" with the nhl, isn't an actual hockey fan.
