What I love about Babcock...

We've seen Tippett and Therrien have post-game piss-fests after games complaining about various things that Detroit does, and they've gotten results. We've also seen phantom calls, and the Pens doing the exact same things that Therrien was bitching about. Babs always takes the high-road, and never goes off.. When is it time for Babcock to take a page out of Bowman's book and just lay into someone? Might be worth the fine. Discuss..

I agree. Watching the post game I was proud then frustrated. If he wanted to say something like "The goalie interference calls were bad calls and amplified given the game and situation" I would not see it as whining. He was mad about the Homer no-goal in Game 2 and spoke his mind about it, I expected something to be said about the 2 bad calls in OVERTIME!!!

I could be wrong but i think the referees only mistake is not calling the penalties both ways...

The goalie interference calls were borderline but why could they not call Gill's cross checks everytime he was on the ice?

Thats what drives me nuts, if your going to call penalties in overtime call them both ways

you're kidding right?

Hall Gill - he's been lumberjacking our players since game 3 , it's clutchandgrab, it's caveman hockey, it's what they let Anaheim do to us last year. it's the only way the league can even things out.

Couldn't be more pissed about two more soft calls to put the game on the Penguins' plate. The refereeing in this series has become a disgusting double standard in favor of Pittburgh, all due to a combination of Pens' bitching and moaning and what we all know is only the "dream match up" if Bettman gets a game 7. Better win it in their barn...

And I think its funny how in the rule book must be an asterisk next to roughing, cross-checking, slashing, and high-sticking that says if it happens to Holmstrom anywhere on the ice, disregard.

Kidding a bit lol... I just hate complaining about penalties taken...

Our players just need to be smart for 60 minutes of hockey and it is possible...(esp for this team)

What my point is pits should be taking alot more penalties then what they are given and i cant seem to understand it...

again not complaining ;)

I think Babcock did the right thing by not complaining about the calls. They didn't lead to the team losing, everyone knows they were BS, no need for him to carry on about it. If he complains about that it makes it seem like he is blaming the refs for the loss, and the ones he should be blaming are in his locker room.

Why does he have to call anyone out in the media? The guy is class. If I remember right team officials meet with league reps after every game so I am sure the Wings concerns are getting voiced.

Because as we've already seen, it helps. Ever since Tippett started complaining about goalie interference, how many times would you say Detroit has been called for it? I'd say approximately 2,000. Therrien has gotten his interference calls, too, even though I'd say that Pitt has obstructed more this series out of the two teams. I like that Babcock is all class, but there comes a time that you have to use the media to your advantage as a coach- the others have done it...I just hope that our skill/experience is enough to overcome the obstacles that are being thrown into the path to the cup.
