do the redwings open the season in england?

I remember that the ducks and kings opened the season in London. I remember bettman saying he wasnt again this years cup winner opening in London. Im totally against the idea.

I think the wings playing in sweden would be the greatest idea that the league has ever had. Many swedes are already fans of Detroit (or so i have read in articles). They would get to watch players that they watched grow up. I think it would really help expand popularity of not only the Wings but the league as well.

Exactly. The best way to market the league overseas is to use Europeans. Will Europeans be attracted to gritty, sloppy North American style? I doubt it.

But I hope we don't go overseas. Seems like it didn't work for Anaheim all that much.

It would be cool to build up the Wings' international fanbase by doing that. But the Ducks got off to a horrible start last year partly because of all the travel from their London trip.....they had to take a conventional road trip immediately following the one to England.
