Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 This move by LA will potentially open a spot for Stuart. My thoughts exactly.....oh well. Hopefully tampa doesnt sign Rolston...me WANTS
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 I like this move for both sides. Visnovsky is still a good offensive Dman, but Ive heard complaints from the Kings that they want to get a little tougher on the back-end and Lubo is pretty soft, and a young banger like Greene will definitely help them out. Plus in a rebuilding stage, Greene will likely be more valuable in the long-run. It'll be nice for the Kings to have Johnson and Doughty getting some strong time on the PP rather than Lubo, and Blake will be their as the mentor. And as others have mentioned...Stuart comes home. If they lock up Stuart long-term, Johnson, Doughty, Stuart, and Greene should be a great core in a few years. Stoll makes them deeper, and hes a pretty decent defensive forward, so thatll help out the Kings as well. Although there are still a lot of questions surrounding in terms of post concussion syndrome. He really hasnt played the same since. Its also a good deal for Oilers, as their youngster really seemed to be on the right track. More ice time for them I suppose. I like this deal. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 Good deal for LA. Greene and Stoll are quality young players, Vishnovsky is grossly overpaid at 7 million IMO.

Systemfel 33 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 Good deal for LA. Greene and Stoll are quality young players, Vishnovsky is grossly overpaid at 7 million IMO.Vishnovsky's cap hit is only 5.6 million. Which is pretty all right considering what a guy like Campbell will be getting as a UFA.
Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted June 30, 2008 On NHL Live, both of the guys are saying bad trade for LA.. weird.. they are now talking about the wings. - Said they aren't going to break the bank for Stuart, May have player already in system - Wings and Rolston could be a good fit. That isnt so bad, but I dont see the need for Vishnovsky in Edmonton. Souray healthy is good enough on the PP.
North Guy 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 After Detroit's recent Cup victory, NHL teams now want to copy the Wings by loading up on puck-moving defencemen. The Oilers now have a stockpile of them.....Visnovsky, Souray, Gilbert, Pitkanen, Grebeshkov, plus two highly regarded prospects in Taylor Chorney and Jeff Petry. Once Brian Campbell signs with a club, RFA Pitkanen's trade value will increase dramatically. I doubt the Oilers will re-sign Pitkanen because he wants a $5M/year long term contract. So expect the Oilers to trade Pitkanen for a Top 6 forward.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Love the player, liked his former team, hate his new team. THUMBS DOWN!!! He apparently feels the same.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 That isnt so bad, but I dont see the need for Vishnovsky in Edmonton. Souray healthy is good enough on the PP. Visnovsky>>>Souray. The best analogy I can think of? If Phoenix were to go out and acquire Sergei Gonchar to play in front of Ed Jovanovski. They already have a capable PP quarterback who is a defensive liability...but the new guy is better offensively and defensively.

Trade what? the chance for Pits to get stolen away on an offesheet.
