Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Sources tell TSN the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers have completed a trade. The Rangers will receive Nikolai Zherdev and Dan Fritsche as part of the package, with Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman among the players heading back to Columbus. Details to follow. jawbreaker 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 I like Tyutin. He is more useful to CBJ than Zherdev. Plus Zherdev is not the best role-model to Filatov. The Rags got finally decent winger to play with Gomez. Good for both.

LidstromIsASuperhero 29 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 I think the NHL needs more trades like this. 90% of the trades we see are salary dumps/rebuilding maneuvers. It's like half the teams lack confidence in their ability to create a winning team... EVER. I think the biggest thing Columbus needs is some leadership. I've been saying the same thing about San Jose for a while too, but at least San Jose has the skill to compensate.
Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Backman is a bit of a waste, but Fedor Tyutin is a very good player from what I've seen. New York doesn't need to keep that offense on the back end, Columbus need it to replace Hainsey and inject more life into their PP. Decent deal for both sides. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) I thought Zherdev was starting to come round in Columbus? What brought this on? He's a special talent and could be anything. Edited July 3, 2008 by Aussie_Wing

Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Anyone else EXTREMELY happy that we won't have to hear the Columbus play by play guy rant about the greatness of NICKY ZHERDEV! anymore? that, and the fact that the Wings dont have to play against Nicky Zherdev 6 times a year next season
Guest Four Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Not too bad of a trade, players traded are needed on their respective new teams. No more Zherdev =[
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) They got the new Jagr!!! In terms of being lazy in team efforts. That's exactly why Jagr was the only Ranger that actually show up in playoffs. I bet you have not seen any Rangers games in past 3 years and you belive everything media show you. Leading your team in regular season scoring for past 3 years and posting 1.5 points per game in 08 playoffs means you are totally lazy and you do not care about your team. Right.
