Sergei Fedorov91 24 Report post Posted July 6, 2008 Ruslan had a great playoff run with the tampa bay lightning in the cup year. That's about it for him, and Satan I guess has a funny name?
WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2008 Federov left for less money, after being lied to about a contract. Shanny left for more money FAIL Shanny left for an equal amount of money, no more or less, his reasons were valid Fedorov lied to the organization and left to be the number one guy and play more minutes, and he left for what we were offering him in the end wrong on both counts

Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted July 6, 2008 Shanny left for an equal amount of money, no more or less, his reasons were valid Fedorov lied to the organization and left to be the number one guy and play more minutes, and he left for what we were offering him in the end wrong on both counts Untrue on both counts.[/size] Fedorov had orginally agreed to a 5 year 50 million deal with holland but when he went to sign it, the deal on the table for 40 million for 4 years. He than signed for less with Anaheim, givin the promise of more playing time. Not Greedy, just a true competior. FAIL Shanahan left because of tension with Babcock, and the fact that he didnt feel like he could conenct with the younger guys, plus the thrill of new york's glamorous lifestyle. The tension with Babcock arose when Babs felt he did not crash the net enough and his permiter play was a bad example for the younger players. The wings than made a half hearted attempt to resign him, knowing he wouldnt accept. size="6"]FAIL

"It really came down to an instinct I had. Detroit has a great past and a great future ahead of them as well, but I guess I just felt that maybe I was identified with the past a little bit more than the future." As Shanahan was quoted on The Sports Network's (TSN) website (via both the Canadian Press & Associated Press) on July 9, 2006 for leaving the Wings to become a Ranger. Also Shanahan was offered two simular contracts with Detroit and New York, the Detroit contract would have paid him more. (IIRC about $500,000 more a year) Trust me the Wings more than fully tried to sign him, he just felt it was time to move on. I even remember him saying that he would love to play in Montreal, but they didn't offer him a deal, so I think that knocks out the glamour style. If Montreal would have offered he would have been in a Habs jersey I assure you.
