Drake: Training camp "pretty doubtful"

I'm glad he's not coming back, since there's enough players already battling for spots on the 4th line.

I cheered for him last year when he was on the Wings, but as a whole I'll never like him looking back upon his career. Too many cheap moments.

Drake was absolutely integral to the Cup run year past, and was one of the five hardest working Wings overall during the postseason. That said, it's unlikely he could duplicate such a put-it-all-on-the-line, heartfilled playoff having achieved the ultimate prize. But he was more than Detroit could've hoped for in the playoffs, probably right to send him on his way with all the forwards around but it's hard if he wanted to come back to say "No thanks" after the way he played.

MY thoughts are that Drake told holland, leave me for last and if you find a role for me to return lets talk then...

Before we signed hossa, and locked up a good portion of our cap space for the year.

I doubt he will return, and if you look at those who have been figuring out cap space etc... not many have even thought to include drake.

Pretty much what I expected on the Wings side of things. I'll be surprised if Drake doesn't retire. It was nice to see him come back to Detroit and win the Cup, he should just go out that way really.

Interesting theory. Hossa definitely upset a few apple carts by signing with us.

I wish that Dallas would talk some sense into Chelios.

why does errybody gotta rip into cheli! i love that motherf***er. no matter how old he is. there has got to be a very good reason why he is still on the team at 46 going on 80. i say GO CHELI! i was stoked when you left the chi when i was a kid, and im still stoked your a red wing.

Hey Detroit #1 Fan.....which thread did your sig come from?

Sopel may be injury prone but he has great hair and is better than every Detroit D-man except Lidstrom and Rafalski, Stuart is overpaid by about 3 million.

This has to be from the moron that used to be known as RuutuAndHavlatOwnACopyOfPrettyWoman. Another ridiculous name for a guy that will receive zero-credibility on this site before he even posts something.
