SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 The correct spelling is in the thread title. What does it matter anyway? It's absolutely both hilarious and annoying how some members here seem to get a ridiculous high on being a member of the LGW Spelling Police. This is a sports forum. This isn't work, this isn't school. There's no spelling tests in here. If I wanted nagging on grammar, I'd want it from my boss for writing a bad formal e-mail or bid proposal, or I'd go back to 1st grade. As long as people DON'T ALWAYS TYPE IN ALL CAPS LIKE this or make 5-line paragraphs in all lowercase and their post is easy to read and understand, I think we can let a spelling error or two (maybe even three? ) slide. tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 I feel bad for him, and I know he loves the game and wants to play but I just don't think he's ever going to be able to heal fully and be 100%.

It is not that spelling counts but think of it this way, if you are in a debate with a friend or associate, you are discussing Hockey, your friend says I think Nick Lindstrom is the best D-man ever. Now does it make him wrong, no but it definitely hurts his credibility when he pronounces words or names wrong. Same here, it is not a dumb spelling mistake the U and E really aren't that close, it is not like the guy accidentally typed forsbirg. It hurts your credibility when you are trying to prove a point or win over an argument and you can't even spell the guys name, it makes you look like you really don't know what you are talking about. Not you specific in general. That is my rule of them of when to bring up spelling, if you spell a word wrong, I don't care but if the misspelled word is key to your argument it makes your argument appear weaker! tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Wasn't that great when he bolted to Philly for more money - although the Avs did lowball him. Avs fans take this as "good news" that he'll come back again by the trade deadline. Talk about inability to move on. If you have to count on this guy to come back and rescue your team again in March - you're in trouble (hopefully at our hands again ). hmmmm... I don't know if I really take it as good news. As much as I like him, I think it's probably best for him to hang them up I just don't know if it's possible for him to ever play at the level that he once was. I hear a lot of mixed emotions from fellows avs fans about him, a lot of people are still pissed off that he left in the first place and didn't even want him back on the team. But there's also a lot of people who'd love to see him play no matter what.... Edited July 18, 2008 by tiff_luvs_homer
