I have never been more proud of Datsyuk than that moment right there. Sure, his goals are VERY awesome, but there is something about a small guy like Datsyuk taking on a goon like Roberts. I was very proud to say the least!

I know. I was beaming with pride, going my Pasha actually Hit someone. I mean, yes, I love everything else he does, but I never thought I'd see that.

And yes, I know there was a ref between them and all that, but, I honestly Never thought I'd see Pasha fight. I had to go on YouTube after the game and just keep watching. I've never been more proud.

Pavel is small but he can deliver a hit now and again. He seems nice in his interviews but I've seen him get pissed off a couple times, especially in the playoffs. To see him landing a couple punches...my chest almost burst from pride.

yea I remember the Dats/Roberts scrap. How could I forget it lol the little ball of fiery russian just fisted in after him .....I was surprised kinda I didnt exactly know he had it in him tbh! probably cause he dont get mad very often and enforcing isnt his job anyway....

Really? I'd appreciate your logic behind Osgood being able to get past Sykora, while being shouldered, have his skate get caught in the net while his momentum is towards the net and be able to make it to the front without tumbling.

I know the Ribiero incident was bad, but this wasn't even close.

Somone had an awesome still-shot of Franzen on top of Malkin with his arm/fist fully cocked and ready to fire at Malkin and the shear terror on Geno's face is beyond hilarious. That picture should be entitled: Mule Smash!

Edit: It's similar to this photo, but Franzen isn't fully on his skates yet and his fist is fully cocked.

i wouldn't say dive as sykoras reaction to the impact shows he shouldered him pretty square and most likely hit him with enough force to knock him off balance quite a bit. he did however EMBELLISH the incident. but thats what good players do now and again. they put their team on the PP and give em a chance to put one in. Now the ribeiro slash reaction was a dive. come on.

My favorite part of that entire video was not franzen over malkin, dats on roberts, or lilja on sykora. Nay. It was the THREE NIL SCORE ON THE TOP OF THE SCREEN.

As for Datsyuk standing up for himself and the team, he rocks. The guy is getting some attitude out there and that's a great thing. Hits galore, not backing down... the guy continues to evolve with takeaways, defensive play... what next? I can't wait to find out.

I'm not. The Ribiero slash was a dive (why you bring it up I don't know because I said it was) but when you are being knocked into your own net it doesn't give you much chance to dive.

If Ozzie had really wanted to withstand the "blow," he could have stayed on his feet. Maybe "dive" is a little harsh, but there was certainly a healthy degree of embellishment.
