I got to hand it to the Kings. At least they are trying to make some deals to make improvements. Living in southern California, a lot of the hockey news is the Kings trying to make some deals. Supposedly they are interested in Selanne and Schneider both. I do hope they get some talent on that team and have a better showing for their fans. And seeing it first hand the Kings have a pretty loyal fan base. Take it from me. Try walking to your car a mile after a Wings/Kings game in a red wings jersey surrounded by LA gangbangers with jerseys on!

I'd love to see the Kings wear their 'throwback' gold/purple sweaters when they take on the Wings.

I love those jerseys too, but it looks like a big rip-off of the Lakers jerseys.

I'd also want them to go back to wearing the crest symbol that they wore when Gretzky played there, with the black and white colors.

This is going to bring even more debate as to why we ever had a lockout. A guy who only had 36 points, and was a -23 should not be paid that much money. I know paying for potential is the new trend anymore, but after a horrible season like that, potential should take a backseat.

you know I was a little surprised he got a deal like that. He must have a good agent or the Kings are just desperate.

I can't actually find the year, But the Kings Joined the league in 1967, wearing the Purple and Yellow. All I could find was that the "lakers changed to the Purple and yellow in the Late 60's"

Jack Kent Cook Owned Both the lakers and the kings, So I wouldn't doubt if he made Both Teams wear Purple (Or "Forum Blue" Cooke like the color purple, but not the term "Purple") During the same season.

Reguardless, The Kings Gold and Forum Blue Jerseys are not "Just a rip off of the lakers"

I think the Kings are/were below the cap floor. They had to sign /somebody/, and they were bound to overpay for payroll to meet the minimum.
