Wing Across The Pond 196 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 On NHL.com's list of strong faceoff men, Drapes wasn't even given consideration in the list of the West best faceoff men, despite the fact he's one of the best in the league. What anyone think?
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 Glad someone posted, I read this and "WTF" is definitely the reaction. At first I was surprised he wasn't number two behind Thorton, but then he wasn't even on the list. Could it be lack of faceoffs taken, due to being on the 3rd/4th line? BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 Didn't read yet, but Yanic Perreault #1?
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 If Drapes isn't at least in the top 10 on that list, it's not even worth reading.
theman19 47 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 brindamour better be near the top as well. He was so good in the 06 cup run that several low brow journalists in edmonton thought he was cheating.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 Didn't read yet, but Yanic Perreault #1? I haven't read it either but common sense would say yes. Any list without him in top 3 immediately loses credibility. A link would be nice. Some info, any info.
FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) No Perreault either. Western Eastern Edited September 9, 2008 by FinRedWing
Doggy 130 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) No Perreault either. Western Eastern Thanks. That is mind-boggling. How can Perreault not be on the list? He is the best by a mile IMO and I am far from alone in having that opinion. How ridiculous. What kind of article is this? I'm pissed off now. Lol. Edit: Does anyoe have the stats? theman19 47 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 to be fair, perrault doesn't have an nhl home this season.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 to be fair, perrault doesn't have an nhl home this season. That, or maybe they are just assuming he is the best and they are noting all the other guys after him Seriously though, Yanik is the best and it isn't even close, not debateable. He's probably led the league (in most years by a healthy margin) for the past 10 straight years (not sure, but I have stats that show he has been for at least the last 7 straight years). P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 The lists said "The following are five Western Conference players who excel in the faceoff circle." and "The following is a list of five of the best draw men in the Eastern Conference." They weren't Top 5 lists, they just introduced ten players who are good at faceoffs.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted September 9, 2008 But it's like writing an article about great offensive players of all time and not including Gretzky.
