NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 Heres hoping Langer adds to Montreal and doesn't become a distraction. If not for bleeding Red Wings red, I've always wanted the Habs to do well. Why would Lang be a distraction?
Shutemdown 23 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 Montreal added a couple of enforcers over the offseason, so you are a little outdated with your post. At this point, their team could beat our team in a brawl. Dude... haven't you ever seen Datsyuk fight? This matchup would be questionable...
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 15, 2008 Why would Lang be a distraction? Better question - would all the yummy hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream being passed through the stands be a distraction to Bobbert?

Seriously though, I just can't stand when people make things up like that. When was Lang ever a distraction in the Wings locker room? He obviously didn't fit into the Wings/Babcocks philosophy, thus he was moved for that reason. All he ever did in Detroit was what he had always done earlier in his career which was score timely goals while not playing much defense. Never once was he a problem in the locker room while in Detroit.

Never once was he a problem in the locker room while in Detroit. Honestly, if not for Lang we probably wouldn't have won the Cup last year. His clutch goals in 2007 allowed the Wings to avoid likely elimination, thus giving the younger players on the team more playoff experience. As a result, in 2008 the younger players had better awareness of the playoffs and more hunger to go all the way.
