PavelHossyukstrom 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Does anyone think Datsyuk will be the assist leader this year with Hossa being his wingman? What do you all think? God i hope so. So sick and tired of seein Thornton lead all the time.
Anomalously 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Crosby, Thornton, Datsyuk, or Savard are my top four guesses. If Crosby is healthy, he's a safe bet. (Also, Savard put up better assists per game but played in 8 fewer games than Thornton.) I'd give Spezza, Lidstrom, and a few others outside shots, but it all depends on performance (let's actually play the games) and injury.
soultrain 43 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 don't think big joe t. is gonna lead in assists this year...he doesn't have anybody who can score. my second favorite team has been the sharks since they were put in my backyard...don't really think they have the tools to lead anything, especially with patrick marleau as the captain and cheech is still not 100%. pavel will have a great year if he stays healthy... he usually does. Doggy 130 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 It doesn't really matter to me much but there's a chance but I would think (as Anom said) Crosby, Thornton and Savard probably have a better shot. Kane will probably get a s***load too this year.
Reilly 24 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 How about we worry about him getting healthy first, ok?
Cicada 4 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 if Crosby is healthy all season he'll get it. the amount of phantom assists he gets is incredible
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 don't think big joe t. is gonna lead in assists this year...he doesn't have anybody who can score. To be fair to Thornton, he doesn't need anyone who can score goals - as John Buccigross has been saying for years "Joe Thornton makes his wingers rich". The Cheechoo factor
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I'm sure his numbers will be up there, but I'd like to see him score more goals too. Every season he surprises us with some new twist to his game, so I'm looking forward to that. For example, last season it was checking! What next? Fighting? :-) I hope this groin thing is nothing serious. He seems to be quite committed to staying in shape, so this, I hope, is just a fluke thing.
