wingfan1991 221 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 is it worth the drive to troy, michigan to check the store out? going to the game on thursday night (opener) and have always wanted to check the store... is it far from the joe?
Shutemdown 23 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 Depending on what way you take, it's not THAT far, although Troy is quite a bit away from JLA. If you were to take I-75 the whole way, you could probably get there in 15-20 mins, and then another 15-20 back to the Joe afterwards.

Big store, or is it a s*** hole? I know and imagine it will be expensive.. but the thought of being in an all Red Wings store is something i think i gotta see

lfd250 1 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 Is it worth it, depends what you want. Since you're going to the game, probably not. That is if you're looking for jerseys and player stuff. You will find more of the less named player stuff. Signed and game worn. Lots of Pictures. However if you're looking for sweatshirts and shirts not really worth it (IMO) 15 to 20 min to the joe?? Hmmm 5pm most people are trying to get out of town, however the 75-696 interchange is a pain. If you plan on going to another game, I'd skip it. Not worth missing opening night. The joe has a lot of the stuff they have there. I go once a year. They might have lots of SCF stuff on sale though now that I think about it.

If you have a list of things you want, you might want to call them. A signed jersey is probably more at the arena then there. ANd I'd hate to see you get something at the Joe, and then it's cheaper there, that would suck.

wingfan1991 221 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 so from this map that distance would be like a 5 min drive.. not sure what the scale is.

redwingslady87 130 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 so from this map that distance would be like a 5 min drive.. not sure what the scale is. like a 1 minute drive, 5 minute walk. You can see Cheli's from Hockeytown Cafe. There isn't a huge sign that says Cheli's Chili across the building, so you kind of have to look for the sign, it won't just jump right out at you. joshy207 156 Report post Posted October 3, 2008 so from this map that distance would be like a 5 min drive.. not sure what the scale is. Look at the picture again... that's Comerica Park on the right. Home plate to center field is what, 400-something feet? Hockeytown to Cheli's is not much farther than that. There's also Town Pump and Centaur to the left (west) of Hockeytown and Cheli's, and State Bar is on Woodward in the Filmore Theater. All good spots.
