Jenny 315 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 Oh lord... I have this weird combo accent of southern/midwestern/Canadian mix, and I use a lot of British slang. The most common question I'm asked by people I've just met is a very confused "Where are you from?" The person below me wishes they'd stayed in bed today. malts85 4 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 When I was still in bed yes, but I had to get ready and rush to gas up before they shot the prices up. TPBM likes Tuesdays
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 I do like Tuesdays. Storage Wars marathon. (Jenny- we probably talk alike. Do you ever catch yourself using "y'all" and "eh" in the same sentence?) The person below me uses the word "fixin'" when they intend to do something.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 No I don't, I'm not southern enough The person below me prefers to work out in the morning.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 I work in. It's too cold out. The person below me has delivered (or assisted in delivering) a baby of any species.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 No, but I have given birth twice and got to see my niece born. The person below me will drive a little farther for a better gas price.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 No need. My store is always the best, plus I have my discount card. (Plus gas prices are pretty close around here unless a store jumps for whatever reason.) The person below me has been in some sort of league.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 I have not, actually. Not much of a joiner, I guess. The person below me like almonds. *munch, munch*
malts85 4 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 When they are chocolate covered TPBM is thinking of buying a puppy
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 Been there done that, I don't need another one. My advice is don't do it in the winter because you'll have to go outside and freeze while trying to train the puppy. The person below me has a gaming system - Wii, playstion, xbox
malts85 4 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 Yeah a PS3, I've bought two puppies in the winter before, if I do buy it it won't be until March or later since I have a trip planned at the end of this month. TPBM enjoyed Home Improvement.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 I had every episode taped. I LOVED that show. It combines comedy and tools, with a nice splash of Detroit sports. What's not to love? The person below me has heard a noise on the tv and not realized it was on the tv and freaked out.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 I have done that at my parents house, they have the surround sound speakers and it freaked me out. The person below me does not like the idea of 3D tvs.
Jenny 315 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 (Jenny- we probably talk alike. Do you ever catch yourself using "y'all" and "eh" in the same sentence?) No, but only because I've made a deliberate effort to never end a sentence with "eh". My family, who has no traces of Canadian accent whatsoever and can't figure out why I do, would never let me live it down. The person below me does not like the idea of 3D tvs. I don't like them, personally. I hope they don't start replacing ordinary TVs. Or at the very least, 3D should be upgraded to Star Trek-style holodecks, if we have to have it. The person below me would use a Star Trek-style holodeck for hockey-related purposes, if one happened to exist in real life.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 Oh, gosh, that would be cool. The person below me did not think of hockey as the first option for a holodeck.
malts85 4 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 I've never watched Star Trek so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. TPBM had a snow storm today.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 Nope. The person below me thinks Habs fans should shut up about their coach not being bilingual.
malts85 4 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 Completely agree, and I support the Habs as my second team to the Wings. Who cares if he doesn't speak French, all that should matter to the fans is that he can get the job done and get those wins that they need. Quebec makes me sick, TPBM can't believe that they pulled Cammallerri out of the game and traded him.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 I think I've heard of that happening before. Probably because since it was in the works once it's accepted they don't want their player playing on the other team...or risking injury. The person below me can admit when they make a mistake.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 I never make mistakes. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTHAHAHAHA. I can't type that with a straight font. Yes, I can admit it. The person below me doesn't understand what our society has against being corrected. I mean, seriously, do you want to go around being wrong in front of everyone for the rest of your life or be humbled for a moment, after which you will do it right and no one will think ill of you on that account any more? SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah it hurts sometimes but I don't consider myself to have an ego or having to be right all the time just to make myself look good or better than others. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, certainly not a new concept to me. I'll get over it. The person below me has done something like this before with similar effect. malts85 4 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Can't say that I have. TPBM is constantly kicking salt build up off of cars, even if it's not yours.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Nope. No salt here. We sand. The person below me has yet to shovel this winter.
malts85 4 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Although it has snowed a bit over here, I haven't shoveled yet this winter season. TPBM likes to read.
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted January 17, 2012 Yes I do. The person below me likes both Miller brothers
