In all seriousness, in terms of 1-goal contests so far, I really don't know what to tell you other than that 1-goal contests aren't unusual and since the Wings won the Cup, they'll be getting everybody's best effort at least, more often than not. Whether that has any big direct correlation with 1-goal contests, I dunno.

Just doesn't seem like much of something to read into, especially being so early in the season.

Yeah the games I have watched it seems we don't want to play or are too lazy with the puck.

Just doesn't seem like much of something to read into, especially being so early in the season.

I know its early but, is this something we should worry about down the road?

In terms of the 1-goal victories/losses, probably nothing to get bent out of shape about. I'm probably being too simplistic, but everybody wins/loses by a goal in a season. I just don't think it is a good indicator in terms of "worry" or measuring progress of a team. Stuff like goals for vs. against, W/L/T in your last 10 games, PP, PK are better indicators I think.

They are giving up too many goals. They are winning, so it doesn't look bad. However, if they have any scoring issues, it will be magnified. Out of the two games where they have won or lost by more than one goal, the winning goal was an empty netter, so even those were close. The last three games they have given up two 3-1 leads and one 4-1 lead. The forwards have to give more support in the defensive zone, and the defensemen need to make better outlet passes.
