Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 8, 2008 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=255088&...s=topStory_main wow, they must have had enough of downie after that biting incident in the AHL this year. Yeah, Tampa must have felt they needed an enforcer after waiving Koci. They'll suck even worse now, sadly.
The Mule 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 With a rotating cast of players, it's no wonder Tampa's lines have little to no chemistry.
DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Yeah, Tampa must have felt they needed an enforcer after waiving Koci. They'll suck even worse now, sadly. Not at all. Tampa comes out on top hugely with this trade. Not only is Downie pretty underrated when it comes to his actual hockey talent, Eminger = Carle without the 2.5 million price tag. Apparently for the time being Downie is going to Norfolk, but he is going to be a great top-9 player in a year or two.
CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 It dosnet matter if they got better players, it's been way to many trades
henrik40 76 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Downie might be a good player someday if he can tone down his temper or whatever the hell is wrong with him.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Tampa Bay just has no real consistent identity anymore, Lecavalier notwithstanding. They're in a state of flux this season, trying to figure out what works, almost as though they've already written off this season and are planning for next year. Can't blame 'em, honestly. Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Now we wait until the next time Downie destroys someone ala McAmmond
soultrain 43 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Matt Carle, i could see him being a killer goal scoring d-man in a few years. somebody needs to hang on to him for awhile in order for him to get comfortable. I do enjoy having Dan Boyle on the sharks.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Yeah, Tampa must have felt they needed an enforcer after waiving Koci. They'll suck even worse now, sadly. Enforcer? Downie is just some visor-wearing reject who fights from time to time, and usually loses. He's no enforcer.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Downie does have skill he just needs to shut up and play.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted November 8, 2008 Good trade for Tampa in my books... Tampa needed more of a defensive defenseman, and Eminger fits that nicely. Downie has the potential to be one of the more skilled agitators in the game, and maybe a new environment will help. Big gain for Tampa.
