puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Isles and Pens going to a shootout. how old is Doug Weight? Seems like he's been around for decades? No luck on the shoot out. Here comes Sykora and scores on MacDonald...
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 S. Kostisyn tried to fight Grabovski in the Habs/Leafs game lol. A night where the Habs lose and the Wings win is a good night.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 no kidding, right? I know the league likes to throw the losing team a bone and Parise DID have a nice goal, but that's just off. Eh, no biggie. We won anyway. Joey Mac beaten by Sykora on the shootout; stops Satan nicely. Sabourin has stopped both shooters thus far for the Isles.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Isles just got jobbed. That shot by Hunter was in.

I know it wouldn't have gone our way, if there was any doubt about the position of that puck. Meh.

I'm a happy camper. Sergei was almost out of control. For a second I thought he was gonna hit the linesman.

I dont know why they hate Grabovski so much. Koivu started cursing at him as he fell earlier, and then Kostisyn loses it and takes a huge run at him. And so did I, he started saying something to the linesman, and keep turning and trying to get away from him. Crazy game it was.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Wow, Isles got totally screwed. Sabourin was completely in the net and across the line, with the exception of his left skate. The puck was in his pads. His pads were in the net. And yet, no goal. Lame.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Don just showed why they went after Grabovski, he butt ended Price right in the you know whats. Wow, cant believe he did that.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Soo, can anyone give me a brief description on how we played? I had hockey at the same time. Really well. Hossa is a machine. Ozzie had his best game of the season; the one goal he gave up was a beautiful deflection/screen by Parise, no way Ozzie could get that. Our D still wasn't as good as it could be and our PP didn't have much of an effect (0-for-5), but the offense made up for it. And no, that 3rd goal wasn't an empty netter either. Regarding the Devils injuries, Gionta said he had the wind knocked out of him, but still didn't return in the game. Salvador said it was just a stinger on his ankle, but HE didn't return to the game either. Doc makes a Monty Python and the Holy Grail "flesh wound" joke on MSG. Grateful Gadsby 10 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Just got home from the game. Don't have much in the way of thoughts/impressions, because I sat right behind Emma Andersson (a/k/a the future Mrs. Henrik Zetterberg), and thus had a difficult time paying close attention to the game. I heard the goal horn go off a few times, and I know the Wings won, but I was really distracted for much of the contest. Hank is truly one of the luckiest guys on the planet. Cup, Conn Smythe, prospective contract worth probably $7 mil+, and Emma.

Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) Yeah we seemed pretty good on the D. One goal is good, plus we won by 2. I'm pretty happy. Osgood made a glorious save in the second when the net came off. I was right behind the net (row 14) and I thought it was going in. Hossa is obviously a champ. That shift in the third where we was going so hard for the trick was amazing. Anyone catch how we went on one knee after the play was coming out of their zone? I don't care if he never plays in a Wings jersey after this year, I want his Jersey. Sweet goal by Malts too. He's playing like an '02-era Fedorov. I'm debating if this is good or not.
HkyTwn 5 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 I got back a little bit ago from the game and I'm so glad I got to go to this one The D was very good and Ozzie was incredible! There were so many moments when I thought for sure it would go in--go by his left pad or up top, but he got them all (except one) and made one truly unbelivable save. Hossa was amazing and I'm glad I finally got to see him play!! He's a beast! It was a fun time! AAAANNNDD I got to meet up with other LGW members to go out to eat before the game and we all sat together! Good game!
