CdnWingsFanEh 2 Report post Posted November 19, 2008 That was some great stick-handling. I don't remember that one. Was that last season? I saw the majority of games and it doesn't seem familiar...

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 19, 2008 I just hope we never have to use Draper on shootouts. Everytime I see him on a breakaway, I immediately know that he's going to shoot the puck wide.

Johnny Law 15 Report post Posted November 19, 2008 Holmstrom has great hands when he has the time and space to use them. You give almost any NHL caliber player time and space and they will make you look stupid. I'm amazed at how good 99% of the players are at all aspects of the game compared with say beer leaguers or mid level competitive leagues. Both McCarty & Maltby where 50 goal scorers in juniors...... kinda makes you wonder what kind of moves they have .

Both McCarty & Maltby where 50 goal scorers in juniors...... kinda makes you wonder what kind of moves they have . What's more amazing is how good the NHL failures are. I had a friend who played in a beer league with a dude that was drafted but never played more than a couple of NHL games. My buddy said it was like a group of kids playing against Wayne Gretzky- he made everyone look stupid and he did it without a tiny shred of effort. And that guy wasn't even good enough to make the NHL. The level of skill it takes to play in the NHL is just amazing. Think of how many guys out there had unbelievable hands but failed as prospects because they just couldn't skate well enough. Hudler's one of the crappier skaters on the Wings but he'd look like Feds skating beside your average played hockey all his life hobby player.
