Guest mindfly Report post Posted November 24, 2008 http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...t_two_more.html Update from the morning skate in Vancouver: Wings general manager Ken Holland said the MRI on Tomas Holmstrom's back revaled no significant damage, just inflammation of the disc, but Holmstrom has been told by doctors to stay off the ice this week. Holland said that means Holmstrom is likely to miss two more weeks because it'll take him some time to get back into game shape when he is cleared to practice. Dan Cleary (eye irritation) skated hard back in Detroit. Holland said he probably won't play Wednesday at home against Montreal but should return on the weekend, probably Friday at home against Columbus. Chris Chelios (fractured shin bone) also skated hard on Sunday, back home, and should begin practicing with the team this week. But Holland said there is no timetable on Chelios return because it'll take some time to get back into game condition. Valtteri Filppula didn't skate Monday because of the flu. Holland said Filppula is expected to play tonight. If he can't, they'll just dress 17 skaters, like they did in Thursday's game in Edmonton. Also, no word yet from the Canucks on goaltender Roberto Luongo's MRI. He injured his groin on Saturday. Curtis Sanford starts in net tonight. This sucks >_<
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 C'est la vie. I'm putting the blame squarely on Pronger. But seriously, f*** Pronger. Get well soon Homer!
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) I rather see him take time off and not hurt himself further. Gives Koper and Meech a little more playing time. A little bump in the road. Honestly, the guy's rear takes a pounding in the crease (that sound's dirty doesn't it?). One would think he would have a sore back after awhile. miller76 463 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Injuries and sickness does suck, but early in the season like it is, almost a good thing for the teams secondary scoring to get on track and get some confidence. Look at what Kopecky and Hudler are doing. Look what happened with Homers injury last year? It put Franzen in a spot where he needed to be more effective. And the dude took off. Better November then April or May. Edited November 24, 2008 by miller76

Honestly, the guy's rear takes a pounding in the crease (that sound's dirty doesn't it?). One would think he would have a sore back after awhile. Very nice. But not Homer being out, good news is Danny is coming back soon, we might have the full team going in a couple of weeks.
