If thats a penalty with 1 min left in the game then there are about 10 uncalled penalties on every play of every NHL game

Dude.. stop?

It was an obvious penalty. stick up in stomach area and somewhat hooking move.. its a hook!

Holy s***, the ref should be shot for that penalty to Vancouver.

I like how nobody here has said anything about it because it's in the Wings' favor.

hey why would we say anything... not like nux fans say anything when the wings get penalties when they shouldnt be or when other teams can punch our guys in the head and get away with it just because we got the cup, its been happening to us all season to man but i understand your frustration... some of these refs need to wake up!

I'm sorry but for YEARS I have back Ozzie. I have always had his back when people got on him and I always knew he was a star but this year he is REALLY starting to piss me off! The 4th goal was horrible and the 5th goal was a result of Ozzie not stopping the play where the Canucks were circling the Wings. Instead of freezing the puck he plays it over to the side where the Canucks take it over, back to the D, over to the other D, shot in the net.

I just don't understand why Babcock won't start playing Conklin MUCH more and tell Ozzie to get his s*** together.

Don't think I'm putting this all on him, cause our D hasn't helped much. When you score 6 goals a game it really shouldn't be this close. This whole monicker of "it's everyones big game to play the Wings" is really getting old. You can't use that excuse EVERY night they play just because they can't dominate a team.

Egh, I'll be over it in a few hours when I realize that in the end they won but I just can't get over how shakey Ozzie looks in net.

I'm sorry but there is ZERO reason Babcock should be happy about this win.

Maybe its just me, but it seems like it wouldnt be such a bad idea to reunite Datsyuk and Zetterberg. They're never as good separately as they are together.

It might be an idea to go with Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen for now, and then maybe Hudler - Filppula - Hossa. I don't know, but it seems like Jiri Hudler and Marian Hossa score no matter who they're with.

i'll take the win. i'm trying to fight off pessimism this season, so i'll keep it brief.

this team sure as hell doesn't like to make it easy on themselves. osgood with another stellar 80% night. 5 goals on 25 shots...

i know it's not all his fault, but it's getting a little old and he certainly shoulders a lot of the blame.

Offense doesn't really seem to be a problem as they generally seem to muster enough to win -- though I agree I enjoy watching Pavs and Zata together.

Damn.. could you imagine this team without lebda, replaced by ericsson, and dream come true.. Luongo in net... damn... Osgood looks so small out there.. 5'10, 170lbs? baah.

We've won four Cups with small goalies. Vernon's only 5'9, 170 and Hasek's 5'11", 165.

We scored 6 goals tonight. Why on EARTH would you change anything about our offense? Considering that Hossa, Franzen and Z are the top 3 goal scorers on the Wings and Hossa, Dats and Z are the top 3 point getters, I really don't see ANY need to reunite Z and Dats and throw Hossa out there with Flip (who has been invisible *to me* this year) and a shooter in Franzen

I'm not saying offense is a problem, but chemistry kind of seems like it is. Whenever lines have good chemistry, it always seems to rub off on the rest of the team. Maybe an adjustment of the lines would help the overall cohesion of the team.

i dont see why we cant have Luongo.. I mean look at all of that free cap space we have.. might as well trade Ozzie straight up for him and we will all live happily ever after

I am a big Osgood guy and want him to dominate so badly, but some games he reminds me of Todd Jones trying to close out a Tigers game.

Rollercoaster!

You could SEE the Wings let up when it got to be 6-3.

P.S. I AM NOT TOTALLY BLAMING THAT (ALMOST) COLLAPSE ON OZZIE.

I see your point. Sometimes the intangibles play a larger part in the team's energy overall than one might think.

Unfortunately when a team scored 5 goals on 25 shots, most of the blame is probably on the goalie.

I've always backed Ozzie but he needs to re-evaluate his game! He's made more mistake than great plays this year.

Luckily for him he plays wonderful within the last minute and the Wings can shut guys down *when they're within a single goal*

ozzie's reminding me of legace a few years ago when he said he felt like hanging himself after a loss. he's hangning his head after every goal. i think his confidence is shot at this point.

Yeah, I wouldn't picking up Ovechkin to put on Zetterberg's wing while we're at it. And Lucic for some grit.

Haha, good analogy.

Again, way to jump down my throat. I'm not saying we aren't getting offense. I'm just saying our lines aren't particularly cohesive on a regular basis, which has an effect on team chemistry. We had 6 goals tonight - but from a patchwork of guys. Again, I'm not saying thats a problem, but our big guns arent really going like our big guns. Datsyuk is below a point per game pace. Zetterberg is barely there. And Hudler is now tied for 2nd in goals with Franzen and Hank.

Yeah, we had 6 goals tonight. I'm happy. But there have been times the past few games where we've faced hot goalies and good defensive teams and still havent been able to break through that. Maybe we'd be able to if we had some more dominate lines in terms of chemistry.

A win is a win. Meech's goal was awesome. Huds was fantastic as was Cleary and Lids.

Would of much preferred Ozzie not to be scored on 5 times. Things will turn around for him soon.

Yea well unfortunately people have been saying (and been praying for) that all season long

I hope you arent suggesting that Hossa and Datsyuk dont have chemistry together.. Not trying to start anything but thats just how I interpreted this whole thing about different lines and chemistry... because Dats and Hoss are great together and its not like Z is exactly struggling on the 2nd line..

Sorry, Reem... but they won for you anyway! Proud of Meech, aren't you? :)

Happy Birthday!!

Z needs someone on his line who can carry the puck, with speed, and let him get open a little bit. He had that with Dats. Now on his line he carries the puck in, waits for his wingers to get into the zone, and usually has to go 1 on 2 or 1 on 3 because he has no support.

Yup. Its a Catch-22. Both sides are to blame - defense and goalies. Our defense isn't confident in our goaltenders, our goaltenders aren't confident in our defense. Its obvious that Ozzie doesn't have much confidence right now. You can tell from the way hes handling himself in the net. Thats gotta change. The Wings really need to buckle down for a few games and play it tight defensively to get it back on track.
