Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 With Hos, Z, Huds and Mule all on course to hit over the 30 mark with Hos likely to top the 40 goal. When was the last time the Wings had 4 guys all score over 30 in the same season and who were they? Cheers.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 They were close in '06; Shanny had 40, Hank had 39, Homer had 29 and Pavel 28. The last time they actually pulled it off was '02; Shanny, Feds, Hull, and Luc all got 30+. And while it's nice to have a guy that's top 5 in scoring, or whatever, it's always seemed preferable to have balanced scoring. Some people are fretting about maybe Hossa or Datsyuk or Zetterberg not having enough points but the spread across the board works for me. 3.5 goals a game don't just score themselves, after all. CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 So will Pavel and Homer.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted December 7, 2008 (edited) So will Pavel and Homer. Dats is not on pace for 30 goals (he's more of an assist-man anyways.. and straggling behind last year, which he barely scored 30), and neither is Homer. Well maybe not his pace as of now but it will pick up later in the year. If Homer stays healthy and is on a line with hossa and datsyuk there is an extremely high chance of

But you're right, he usually goes through a stretch wheres hes lighting the lamp consisntently to catch up.

Agreed. It seems that Wings players always seem to play more balanced games, and therefore their stats suffer. But the wealth is spread around much more than on other teams. In 2002, did we have anyone at all in the top 5? I can't remember, but I don't think so. Everyone had average or below average years, yet it was a Hall of Fame team that won the Cup due to balance. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 A few weeks ago someone was predicting Hank to possibly finish with 50. I guess that has gone into the toilet. It''s all going to depend on injuries. If Franzen, Hank and Homer could stay healthy, then we'll have 5 guys possibly hit 30. I doubt that will happen now. Dats is not even on pace in one of his usual stretch runs, to hit 30. He would really need to go beyond that, and not only is he a secondary scorer (passer first), he's now got Hossa, who is overtly a trigger-man. I just don't see Dats hitting 30 this year. 30 is about the best Homer can do as well and he's not even on pace for that. Unless he really goes above and beyond expectations, I see him coming short of 30, which isn't bad at all.
