Most mentally tough sportsperson I can ever recall. i second that. maybe only tiger woods compares. nadal is in a league of his own when it comes to focus and resilience. federer basically crumbled against nadal's iron will. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 i second that. maybe only tiger woods compares. nadal is in a league of his own when it comes to focus and resilience. federer basically crumbled against nadal's iron will. I don't know if I would call it crumble per se. Finally Federer has someone to compete against who is in his league, has the talent and mental will to win. Thank God for that, because I was sure as heck getting tired of watching Federer cruise through every Slam save the French. Competition is good for the sport - nice job Nadal! Thank God for that, because I was sure as heck getting tired of watching Federer cruise through every Slam save the French. Competition is good for the sport - nice job Nadal! nadal's had fed's number for years. he's 13-6 against federer. it's evident federer is scared to death of nadal, and now that nadal's beaten fed on hard courts, grass, and clay consecutively in slam finals, i honestly can't see federer beating nadal in a slam again. he's much too scared of rafa. he crumbled imo. the fifth was brutal. fed served near 50% for that match, terrible by his standards, and had a propensity to double fault on important points. he really can't seem to handle the pressure against nadal. it's sad, really, in order for federer to tie sampras, nadal is going to have to lose in an earlier round.
