Gnredwing 10 Report post Posted February 8, 2009 Being a Red Wing fan in NY all I ever hear from friends and the media is how good the Rangers are. They Say Lundquist is the best goalie in the league, they have so many good players and they are the team to beat in the east. Now they have lost 4 in a row including 10-2 vs Dallas the other night. Ranger fans are extremely arrogant, atleast the ones I know and when ever I go to a Wings Rangers game and the Wings are winning, all fans around me do is rip on what a terrible city Detroit is! Somehow making fun of the city of Detroit makes them feel better, I cant stand the Rangers and all their fans!!! Hopefully they will continue to spiral down. Anyone else have dislike for the Rangers, or am I the only one?

TheOwl 77 Report post Posted February 8, 2009 I hate just about every team except Detroit. One of the few teams who doesn't trap. I don't mind Calgary, Minnesota or Washington though. I really don't understand people who cheer for a team just based on where it's located. Most teams are boring to watch, but what can be more exciting then watching Datsyuk, Hossa and Zetterberg every game?

Same kinda thing happens here in Vancouver, when they beat Detroit in overtime that one game in November the fans acted like Luongo had just lifted the Cup over his head. SweWings 45 Report post Posted February 8, 2009 The Rangers always make me laugh. The team is like that uncle at bbq who is fun at the beginning but then eventually he gets so drunk that he stops making any sense whatsoever...

I'd expect the same type of thing in any other city, regardless of the professional team or sport. Every team has its homer fans. I hear people stroke the New Orleans Saints' egos nearly every weekend in the fall during football season and we usually under-achieve. Nothing to lose too much sleep over. Spinner 6 Report post Posted February 8, 2009 I don't really like any team form New York, but that's just me with exception of when Brad Van Pelt played for the Giants, hometown boy making it big. I did watch Ranger games when Shanny was on the team, now I watch the Devils a little more. Same with teams Federov plays for. These 2 really put hockey over football for me.
