alot of ozzie bashing here, unfortunately it is all appropriate. The wings are giving up 3 to 4 goals a game and this might allow them to make the playoffs because of the great offense, but when the playoffs start it will be over before they know it, you cannot give up 3 to 5 goals in the playoffs and expect to go anywhere. ozzie has been giving up 2 to 3 soft goals a game in most of the games played since the new year, I do not know why, I do not care why... I would sit him publicly or send him down to the Griffins if his contract allowed it. The wings are built to not require a superstar goalie, any wings goalie can figure he can give up 2 goals and get a W because the wings are a 3 goal+ a game offense, so their formula is simple, give up no more than 2 goals, score 3 or more and win the majority of games, this is the wings and Ozzie no longer fits into this mold, so you either re-work the wings or you get a goalie who can win a game with 2 freebies...

sorry ozzie, either figure it out or it's time to go.

All of Ozzy's defenders say he will play out of it. Did Hasek last year? Nope,

Hasek was 10-3-1 in the last three months of the season last year? Played well in the first two games of the Nashville series before losing his starting job to Ozzie. He never had a chance to "Play out of it", unless you count that as game 4...

-I can't remember the last time I've seen the puck bounce around so unfavorably for the Wings.

-I think we're starting to see why Lilja should not get top-4 minutes for too long. Unfortunately Stuart's nowhere near his return.

-I thought Cleary's first goal was no good. I wonder if Toronto was trying to give a make up call because O'Halloran was officiating.

-Like it or not, Ozzie will be the playoff goalie. For the time being, it's best to see if he can play through his mistakes and gradually work his way into a groove. Now, he's played 3 in a row and gone 1-1-1, so Conklin should start the next game, but Ozzie should probably play the one after that.

-Keep them together 5 on 5, but I wonder if Pav and Z should center their own Power Play lines.

-I like Fil with Hoss. Skater with Skater.

We gain nothing by naming Conklin starter now. Start Ozzy as much as possible in the next few weeks, if he still sucks, then we'll know if we need to make Conklin our starter or trade for a goalie.

We have been riding Ozzie and it has gained us nothing. Starting Ozzie as much as possible in the next few weeks will not sort out the fundamental problems that he has. Ozzie got his shot and he blew it big time. It's Ty's time to start as much as possible in the next few weeks.

I just watched the highlights on NHL.com, it's the Avs broadcast version.

Good God Almighty. Their announcing is horrid. The moron had lost his voice by the 3rd period because of his shrieks whenever the Avs got one.

In defense of the crappy Avs announcers, Oz let in a sh!t ton of goals tonight.

Even had the crappy Avs announcer called each goal in a calm, soothing manner, the sheer frequency of the calls could very well have made him a bit hoarse.

Why? He LOST his starting role! He didn't deserve it end of story!

* This message is to all the Ozzie Lovers.

WAKE UP, team success is more important then a player success and stats.

FACE IT HIS NOT PLAYING GOOD THIS YEAR, SIMPLE AS THAT. Maybe next year he will be one of the tops again we don't know. It happens sometimes that a player has bad years but you've got to face it... Now I love ozzie and his my 2nd fav. goalie all time, but just because his my favorite goalie I'm not blinded and realize that this team would be better with conks as of right now.

Stats speak itself, love it or hate it, those are the facts ... Conks > Osgood simple as that ...

Like I had posted previously in another topic if a goalie can't save what the defense is not capable of stopping then he shouldn't be in net. If defense could of kept the games always under 2 goals since it' always defenses fault ... why would we even need a goalie ? Trade osgood and conks use there cap money for a defensemen ... since it's ALWAYS THE DEFENSES FAULT AND OSGOOD NEVER LETS ANY WEAK GOALS OR ANY GOALS THAT ARE HIS FAULT.

This is the closest thing they will get to a playoff game this year so they get overly excited. Let them have their fun now, The Wings will still be playing deep into April (and hopefully May) while the Avs will have nothing but tee times to look forward to.

what was his save %, I can't remember the games but overall record doesn't show how well the goalie is playing; especially in Detroit. I mean if you looked at Ozzy's record you would think he's playing fine. But I do remember when everyone thought Dom would come around he never did and we ended up pulling him he was given a chance. At this point I feel safer with Conklin in the net, maybe Ozzy just needs to have the competition, I hope we do end up riding a hot goalie into the play offs regardless of who it is.

Exactly I never have cared who's in net as long as we are winning, but people have some sort of attachment to players that is simply illogical, the Hasek/Ozzy lovers; people there are some that are indifferent, but if a goalie is playing like s*** he should be called out.

The best option would be to send him to GR for a some conditioning and if we're lucky some bottom feeder team will pluck this bottom feeder goalie off waivers, maybe they'll be blinded by his inflated career stats like many of the fans on the boards.

Atleast that way we'll save half of his salary for the next couple of seasons... so we can put it to use on a player that may contribute now and in the future as opposed to last spring, which, by the way is in the past.

Yeah, as blinded as the Blues and Isles were back in the day. Oh wait, how did Osgood fare with those teams?

Wonderful ******* ignorance.
