What the heck is this supposed to mean?

"Mike Babcock would appear golden here, but behind the scenes there has been some disagreement over personnel and grumbling over how ice time has been doled out to some veterans. It’s water under the bridge for now."

ala Power Rankings ala McKeon ala Yahoo Sports

(this week's topic is team coaches, if you didn't get that)

it means some ahole that probably knows nothing about hockey just need something to say in his little blurb for the Wings power rankings. Seriously must every writer in the U.S. knows dick about hockey and even less about the Wings. So f*** him

Dang, no mercy eh?

But there is a precedent when it comes to the way the press covers the Wings. Wasn't Babcock supposed to be fired early in '06-'07 when the team struggled through a western road trip?

If anyone's cranky it's probably Chelios, but then when isn't he?

Has been grumbling, but it's water under the bridge? For all we know that could be Lang or someone that isn't even with the team any more.

Either the writer or the veterans need to STFU and go sit in the truck.

Amen. Listening to guys like that will make you think we're gonna trade away Ericsson for a s***ty goalie.

It means that he heard from a very "reliable" source that one player made a comment regarding his diminished ice team. Babcock then proceeding to pull out his whip and lash said player 30 times on the back, just to teach him a lesson. Afterwards, they hugged and drank beer, talking about the good ol' days.

In seriousness: It means the person writing that has no idea what he's talking about.
