edicius 3,269 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 Odd that he only got two games for the 2nd suspension.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 Odd that he only got two games for the 2nd suspension. I think it's because the hit wasn't all that bad, might not have been a suspension for someone else. It's a suspension because he simply went for the hit, not the puck...on an icing. Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 It doesn't look THAT bad, however: 1) It's an icing 2) He put his elbow to drive the other dude's head into the boards 3) It's their captain With all that factored in I think two games is fair.
Kevvie 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 Since when do the length of suspensions make sense?
Mike 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 If this happened to a Red Wing, I would be pissed. It was a hard hit, nothing more.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 Didn't the League say that "repeat offenders" would see their suspensions escalate, until they "got the message" regarding shots to the head? It they are following policy, this should have been lonnger than 5 games.
Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 If this happened to a Red Wing, I would be pissed. It was a hard hit, nothing more. I don't agree. This hit is similar to what Pronger did to Holmstrom. It's not as severe, but it's similar.
