SDavis35 140 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Gotta admit, the Wings got a benefit of the majority of the calls, but they also worked their butts off last night. Sharks didn't look good in the third period @ Dallas, and they didn't look top-notch last night. Either they've grown tired, or they're just not able to push past their past. But the referees did what they were supposed to do, the Wings got benefits and converted on the bad calls, the Sharks didn't. But, that's what it feels like to lose a game when the calls aren't going your way. Remember last year's netting situation? I blame the refs for missing the call, but more importantly, the Wings needed to play until the whistle blew. Every time reffing errors come up, I always think about my former gym teacher's favourite line: Good teams find a way to win
Hopper15 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Those Refs should be fined for that pathetic officiating last night. How the hell do you miss a puck hitting the netting? Then Clearly only gets two minutes for intentionally trying to injure Joe Thornton. That should have been a five minute PP major for the Sharks.

Get a grip, it seems your fogging up your lenses with homer-vision! He already committed to the hit when Thorton turned. ...The refs did suck though, I will agree on that. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 It happens. When calls don't go your way, you ***** about the refs being in on some conspiracy against your team. I see it here too. Quoted for truth.
KronwallCRUNCH 5 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Who cares what some 16 year old kid says on their myspace? Is that what it's come down to discussing on this board? I've never looked for a Sharks' forum but if I want opinions from other teams' fans, I'd start there. I agree. Is this what this forum is coming to? Back to my cave for another 3 months... Thornton glanced back, Cleary assumed Thornton was seeing him coming for some form of a hit. A 2-minute minor without question but Cleary could've done far worse to get a 5-minute major. As for the netting thing, remember last year when your team benefited of a "goal" off the netting against the Wings. Sometimes people miss stuff like that or calls. I don't like it sometimes but the refs aren't perfect. Stuff like the netting incidents or phantom interefernce calls needs to be reviewable.
Hopper15 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Seto's goal last year went off the glass and took a funny bounce. The puck yesterday clearly went off the netting and the Refs missed it. Joe didn't look back, he was looking down at the puck in the corner before the cheap shot came. The Refs were absolutely terrible last night.

The Refs were absolutely terrible last night. B.S. Watch the highlights. Around 1:40. You hear the Wings annoucers say it went off the netting, just like they said this last game as well when the goal favored the Wings. So you cannot play the homer annoucer card there. I don't have the greatest ears, but I hear absolutely no sound off the glass boards for that "net" goal. Must've been a "quiet" puck eh? Tell me what basis you have for claiming the puck took a funny bounce off the glass. I didn't hear a thing. Both goals for San Jose and Detroit in those instances shouldn't have counted, whenenever pucks hit the netting like that and goals result, the time/sequence should be reviewable and play should be reset. Hopper15 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 The puck hitting the glass doesn't have the same sound affect as the puck hitting the goalpost or so. Of course you didn't hear it. The puck hit the very tip of the top of glass and then deflected right behind the net.

Sure the Sharks didn't get many breaks, but they weren't the best team the other night. The wings played better and deserved to win. Just hope like I do that the Sharks get it together for the playoffs. That's when it counts. Right now teams are simply jockeying for position.

The puck hit the very tip of the top of glass and then deflected right behind the net. Answer us this then... Why would the annoucers even say that the puck hit the mesh right before to goal in the first place if it didn't happen? Just fess up and admit you were incorrect and are being a bitter fan of a team that just lost a game. There's nothing wrong with that and nobody is going to hold that against you.
