Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 29, 2009 (when Lidstrom and Rafalski start playing 35-38 mins a game). That's a bit of an exaggeration; they're probably going to be looking at 26-30 minutes a night. That's a bit of bump up from what they're averaging now, but not too drastic a leap. RedFX 48 Report post Posted March 29, 2009 Why has Rafalski been given days off lately? Is he lazy? Rafalski is lazy and he sucks...
interminded 1 Report post Posted March 29, 2009 No doubt Ozzie has his worst career stats and is yet to look confident in net. Conklin on the other hand has some of the best stats in the league and remains consistent to last year. Hmmm, all the blame can't be on the defense. Even with the Pens last year, Conklin was great. I'm praying Ozzie is not starting in the playoffs and that he blows yet another game today so management can comfortably be able to tell him to sit on the bench and don't move, Conks is our man. It's not like that was a bad team last year... I don't mean to downplay Conklin's performance, because he has been steady this year. But let's not make him more than he is. In his entire NHL-career (Edmonton, Columbus, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Detroit) he has never been able to grab hold of the starter's job.

Taosuntzu 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2009 That's a bit of an exaggeration; they're probably going to be looking at 26-30 minutes a night. That's a bit of bump up from what they're averaging now, but not too drastic a leap. You might be right. I'm thinking about all the way back to the St. Louis days when Macinnis and Pronger would play both the 1st and 2nd lines consecutively. Then they would also take the entire PP, and Play on PK1. Back then the announcers used keep track of their TOI, and match it to the TOI of Lidstrom and his pairing. They always came out close, sometimes over 40 mins. Today's hockey is played so much faster, you end up sprinting your entire shift. I also want to see Lidstrom's TOI compared to the other pairings and see if the speed of the game is passing by elite defenseman. (ie: If you can only play 20 min, or 1/3 of a game, then how much difference can the Neidermayar's, Gonchar's, and Zubov's of the league make?)
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 29, 2009 Lol you joke about that too huh? I find it funny when (and by when, i mean rarely because i try to stay healthy and in shape) I go to a fast food joint, i hear the car in front of me order like 2 triple whoppers with cheese, large fry, and one of those hershey pie things, then you hear the guy on the speaker say "and what to drink with that?" ummm diet coke. AS IF THAT DAMN DIET COKE will offset the 2000 other calories you're about to eat OMFG LoL That totally reminds me of this Tenacious D track (Halo-ized for teh funnie, apparently). NSFW, language.
