Vladifan 680 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 that's complete bulls***. I think people are just irritated seeing the same people defend Ozzy even when he doesn't deserve it, it gets quite annoying. I'm sure everyone except maybe Mindfly would love for Ozzy to turn into his playoff self, but most don't have faith; you would have to be crazy to not understand why people don't. With that being said he didn't let in 3 goals which seemed to be his MO, so that's a positive. Plus other then 1 mess up all on him, which can easily be corrected he had a decent game; so hopefully he can just step up a little more and everything should be smooth sailing. Thank you. This is what I call a realistic attitude from a Deetroit fan. NObody here, ANYwhere on this board is saying Oz has been perfect or even great. But like Shore says, wouldn't it be juuust a little more logical to wait till we get into the playoffs to say he's hopeless? (And even with that, what is their remedy/solution???!!) So we'll all just look to Shoreline for when and where we're allowed to criticize the team. Opinions differ all the time, if some people want to wait until we're actually eliminated to say something that's their perrogative, not a mandate. If Ozzie cleans his game up then I'm sure the sentiment will change, but until then, he's got some cleaning to do, and fast. esteef
clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) I don't believe it for a minute because I'm betting you already sold the farm to raise money to bet against the Wings. Why would I do that? I followed the wings since - well, judging by immaturity of your posts - before you were born. Just because I don't feel Chris Osgood is the right guy doesn't mean I don't care about the wings. And I don't think the sentiment will change from some of you because you will find something to ***** about. There will always and forever be a "...However..." when it comes to Oz and how you all respond. :nonono: to the bolded comment. I rest my case. Meanwhile, there has been no mention from any of you bashers about how Oz's game has picked up recently - when it really starts to count. What's up with that? That's just a rhetorical question because there really is no logical answer for why you guys haven't mentioned it.

Wonder how much further we can twist someone's words?

If you only knew how far off you are on that statement....And someday if you're still around these parts, you will be the first to be informed how incorrect you are. You can call my posts immature but you still have no answers to the total, unrequited negativity when it comes to Chris Osgood.

That's just a rhetorical question because there really is no logical answer for why you guys haven't mentioned it. Actually, there is an answer to that. His play lately has picked up only slightly. He's been inconsistent this season, because when he does play well for a while, he seems to sink back again into poor play. Basically, we'll believe he's back to playing well when he does it for an extended time. One or two games is not an extended time. Several times this season it looked like he was back to normal, and then he got tagged the next several games. For instance, if he gives up 5 goals the next game, we'll be on his case again, and you'll be defending him again telling us all how he's won Cups in the past. Bottom line is that he has to bring his pitiful stats back up. Obviously it's too late to do that for the regular season, but we can't win in the playoffs if our goalie has a GAA over 3.00 and a save percentage below 90%. He better be good in the playoffs, because scoring is traditionally lower in the playoffs. He can't rely on these 6-5 and 5-4 games to boost his win percentage. He doesn't have to do anything with his stats. He just has to do what he did last playoffs. Make the big saves when called upon and give his team a chance to win. Fingers crossed that he does that. And for those of you who think the second goal was a bad one by Ozzy, why is no one bitching about Datsyuk getting knocked off the puck and turning it over, which led to the goal? The first one was a horrible goal to let in by Ozzy. The second was a scramble off a turnover behind the net. It happens. Datsyuk has earned the benefit of the doubt due to his great season. That's just the way it's going to be until he gets his play back together. If Ozzie was having a great season, nobody would complain about any of the goals he gave up yesterday, or if they did complain, the complaints wouldn't last very long. People have just lost their patience waiting for this guy to pick up his game. Even around Christmas many expected that by this time everything would be back on track. He did play well tonight against the Sabres though so let's see if he can "keep 'er goin'"! esteef
