Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Lotsa heads-a-rollin' this year. Another reason why Hossa should stay with the Wings, he'll be in a stable environment for many years to come.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Hm, didn't expect this one at all.
HomeNugget 2 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Smart move by the Wild. Apart from one fluke playoff run, Risebrough hasn't had any success as a GM.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) Former GM's available out there (who aren't in retirement mode) - Bobby Clarke - Jay Feaster - John Ferguson - Pat Quinn - Dave Nonis - Neil Smith - Craig Patrick - Dave Taylor - Doug MacLean There's a few others, I figure those are the main players. Blueliner 69 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Per NHL.com, it sounds like he's not being fired. They just aren't going to renew his contract.

mjlegend 155 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Since I want them to fail horribly, I would advise them to hire Mike Milbury.
ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Jay Feaster would be my choice personally but that's a pretty uninformed decision.
wings5gal 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 The best announcement Leipold has made yet. According to other articles, he'd made the decision a month ago...was just waiting for the season to be over to announce it. I saw this and my jaw nearly hit the floor. I'd been praying. Honestly, I'm not sure there could be a worse GM. But...again...I could be wrong. Hoping I'm not though. It was going to be a rebuilding year for the Wild...I guess now it REALLY is. AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Also heard Lemaire was out as well. Good move. Man, that system in Minnesota was hard to watch. Just retire, Lemaire, and take your stupid trap with you.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Also heard Lemaire was out as well. Good move. Man, that system in Minnesota was hard to watch. Just retire, Lemaire, and take your stupid trap with you. He'd have to take a couple of other coaches with him if he's going to take the trap with him. But I'd certainly welcome the formal death of the trap.
wings5gal 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Also heard Lemaire was out as well. Good move. Man, that system in Minnesota was hard to watch. Just retire, Lemaire, and take your stupid trap with you. He's retired as coach of the Wild, but hasn't said that he's done with coaching altogether. So he may appear somewhere else. If someone wants him.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 I can almost guarantee that Lemaire will be coaching the Montreal Canadiens next season.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Same thing. Brian Burke will tell you otherwise.
miller76 463 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Talk about long overdue. Risebrough is a load. He should have been let go last season. Lemaire will be at the helm of Montreal next season. It's like all the stars are aligning for this uniting by the summer.
