wmubronco420 25 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 (edited) well if SJ turns it around we would play vancouver then, since SJ would play either the 4-5 seed while we take the 3rd. Assuming that the Blues are done Edited April 20, 2009 by wmubronco420
Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 It would be funny to see the president trophy winning sharks lose in the 1st rd. Oh man how sweet that would be.
TheSupafly 50 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 Actually bummed out by the Sharks choking like this, was really looking forward to a potential semi-final between us and them. That and I can't stand the ducks, pretty much like to see any team beat them, though at least I get to see Claude Lemieux lose again and that's always refreshing. Trust me when I say this. YOU are not bummed out. I can't even begin to put into words what it was like being there tonight. Watching each powerplay being wasted. Watching as the the last minute ticked away....the Sharks not even able to break out of their zone and pull Nabokov. Hearing the horn go off and the quiet that followed. The masses of people taking the long walk of shame down Santa Clara street...such a stark contrast to the usual antics that go on after a home playoff win. I can't imagine what it must be like as a Cubs fan...because this is sick. Year after year of expectations, and nothing but bitter disappointment. I still feel like they could pull this out...they'd have to win 4 of 5 to do it, but it certainly isn't impossible. The last time they opened a playoff series with two home losses they won the next two on the road. (Calgary WCF) Granted they ultimately dropped the series, but it gives this desperate fan a slim straw to grasp on to. I'm gonna have a beer.

wmubronco420 25 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 (edited) lol, the reseeding stuff gets a little confusing sometimes...you should've seen me trying to explain it to my mom. Anyway id rather play vancouver personally, this ducks team scares me and Hiller is reminding me of giggy from a few years back...bad memories Edited April 20, 2009 by wmubronco420
TheSupafly 50 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 lol, the reseeding stuff gets a little confusing sometimes...you should've seen me trying to explain it to my mom. Try explaining it like I do. "Best seed left, plays worst seed left. The other two teams play each other. That's it." It's about as simple as it gets.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 I understand the seeding system perfectly fine, it was just a case of temporary idiocy.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 20, 2009 /facepalmshimself The Wings are not the number one seed this year. Assuming the Wings win their series, and the Canucks win theirs, it means the Wings either face Anaheim, being that the Wings would be the new top seed in the west, and Anaheim the lowest, or the Canucks, if the Sharks win, since the Sharks would play the winner of the Hawks/Flames series. Would be a straight (1) vs. (4)or(5), (2) vs. (3) for the next round, or (2) vs. (8), (3) vs. (4)or(5).

She even asked if it was possible for us to play the devils lol And Hockey Town Heroes, i wasnt trying to insult you our anything, just pointing out it can be confusing Edited April 20, 2009 by wmubronco420

First round Wings flops: 1994 (Sharks btw), 2001, 2003 (know how it feels to run into a hot Ducks goalie), 2006 (Pres trophy curse). However, we sneak in a few Cups in between the flops, so it makes up for it. I still say the Sharks make it a series, but I have a feeling it will be like Dallas last year.... we'll see. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 Well, look at the bright side.. here's what our potential matchups are shaping up to be: Chicago, who have Quennville (our playoff good luck charm) as a coach and an inexperienced core. Vancouver, who have 0 cups throughout all the players on their team (and very little finals/conference finals experience within their core). Anaheim, probably the nastiest of the lot, but lacking in their scoring depth as compared to previous years. With any luck, if we make it to next round, we face Chicago or Vancouver (preferably Chicago), the other team knocks out Anaheim after a long struggle (possibly taking some injuries), we face a tired team in the conference finals, either one of which shapes up as a good matchup for us. We then (hopefully) roll over whoever comes out of the East. Wings cannot draw the Hawks in round 2 unless St Louis comes back from 0-3 and the Sharks come back from 0-2. dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 Are the Blues really that bad? They looked HORRIBLE last night, like they didn't even care One of the reasons I predicted a Canucks sweep is because I have a strong feeling that the Blues are "satisfied". No one expected them to make the playoffs, and when they finally did it was like they collectively drew a sigh of relief and started to pat eachother on their backs. They weren't able to reload the batteries and set their sights on going deep in the playoffs, and that might be happening to the Blue Jackets as well. Both teams are better than what they've shown. Teams like the Rangers and the Ducks on the other hand, who fought for their playoff spots but have been there before and aren't happy with just getting in, they are on the way to upsetting the top seeds.
