06TJSport 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 You think he would be a little smarter about driving that fast since his older brother died in a car accident and it is a touchy subject. If you aren't a speed freak or don't have that, live life to the excess personality you would never understand driving that fast. If Ovie didn't drive that fast, he wouldn't be the same player he is on the ice. The reason he is creative and scores goals the way he does is because of his personality. He goes out there and does everything to the fullest extent possible. It's his passion to do what he enjoys to extremes that make him play the way he does. I've gone 145 down I-75 and was more than comfortable, then again I've done 160+ on a racetrack too, so I understand completely where he is coming from on the whole speed thing. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Ovechkin is an effing king. He's obviously bats*** crazy, but that just adds to his appeal

First of all, let me congratulate you on being a hardass, second of all, if you look 3 inches to the north of your post on your computer screen, you will see that i already said that if Ovie didn't live life the way he does, he wouldn't be the same hockey player that he is, but thanks for repeating what i had already said

But. But. Nothing... You want me to give you a high five for going 145 mph down I-75? You want me to start rubbing my nipples because you are turning me on? I have had my share of excitement with speed, not only in cars. Yet I am not going around fluffing my own penis. At least be smart about it and keep it to the track. Do not put anyone else at risk due to lack of judgment. Apparently you are not understanding the video. AO lost a brother in a car accident, does not want to talk about it as it is his personal life, he likes to drive fast, the Caps Organization is a concerned about it and the situation with the utility cart with Green. Don't shoot the messenger as the people who are paying his contract are concerned with some of his actions off the ice. Should I refresh your memory of Danny H and Dan Snyder? Oh wait, they were only drinking and driving. Hey everyone, lets get drunk, get behind the wheel, and drive! I drive 10 times better when I am buzzed. HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Next Crosby will be on here. I really like this, I like Ovechkin very much. One of my favorite players that don't play for the Red Wings.

It would be hard to have Crosby on the show, he is incredibly boring and the show would be very lackluster.

Glad you guys think I was trying to be a hardass. I was merely stating that I understand his love of speed and that it isn't a big deal.
blikst 1 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Come on. Anyone who have ever bought one of those cars have driven that fast just to test the limits a little bit. He didn't say he drives like that every time or anything. Then about his brother, do we even know the details about what happened? For all we know it might have had nothing to do with speed or reckless driving.

Actually you were right, and Ovie doesn't need to be yet another superstar who conforms to people's beliefs of the type who isn't a risk taker. If he wants to drive fast (obviously safely that fast), why not? If he wants to skydive, why not? His eccentric personality (and I'm not sure if I said previously [might have edited it out] but being ADHD we can spot one of our own) is what makes him who he is, and there is nothing wrong with it.
