Yet another "I-met-[insert any red wing player]"-it-was-awesome-look-at-me-thread... haha.

Being new to hockey and the Red Wings, being a fan might not quite have hit you yet, but people actually want to be around hockey players they're fans of. Crazy, ain't it?

Lol. Most likely.

Mike, I agree. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It'd suck so bad for him. I'd be shattered also.

Vladifan, thanks. It was an amazing experience, particularly because I'd always watched them from 11,000 miles away and never thought I'd ever meet them. It was probably the best night of my life.

See, that's the thing I was thinking too, along with just the excitement of being there at all! That you live sooo far away that I can't even ***** about not getting there often. ^_^ Meanwhile, even coming from Texas I would have been incoherent and dribbling on to my jersey.

That is TRES cool!!!!

I met a groupie in a Portland bar that said Chelli was a ***** and Nick was classy. Does that count for anything? ... I thought not.

Thought you'd never bring it up. :P Reminds me of the time we went to a Wings' game in Chicago. Had real great seats about 4 rows up from the ice and sat behing a know-it-all who was regaling two newbies with his knowledge. He called Cheli "scum". (Of course that's after he came to play with us.) I reminded him that that scum at the time was plus - 56. (I think that's what he was at the time...). Didn't shut him up though. <_<

Winner. I was envious of Doggy until I read this.

Hank's gonna kill him.

What were you wearing?

 Yesssss I win! I was just wearing a vintage Wings t-shirt. But when I re-tell the story I usually sex it up.

Okay, okay. Let's just get this straight. Ericsson only accidentally touched her boob because she got him to sign her t-shirt.

Also, she was the reason we didn't see Hank. Someone tipped him off and he escaped through the vents.

Ok fine...I may have leaned into him a bit as he got ready to sign my shirt. Oops. :shifty:

I got real lucky the other night at game 1 and (thanks to HR40) was lucky enough to meet many Red Wings after the game which was a HUGE thrill for this Aussie kid. I never thought I'd be lucky enough to get the privilege. Not to mention make my Winter Classic jersey WAY cooler.

Sadly, I wasn't lucky enough to catch Zetterberg, Lidstrom or Stevie but I managed to see Datsyuk, Hossa and heard some interesting words from Andreas Lilja.

Unfortunately, he was extremely sombre despite the preceding events of the night. He didn't seem to have a very positive disposition at all. HR40 asked him, "How are you feeling?" and he responded with what seemed like the default answer, "Fine." His face was forlorn and his body language was negative. In response to "We'd love to have you back, do you think you'll be back for the playoffs?" he said, "I hope so." HR40 and I were in agreeance his face said it all though. "Probably not."

It was such a sad thing to see, but he looked devastated. Meeting the man himself confirmed the grim things I'd heard a while ago about his injury.

On a more positive note, Datsyuk is a really funny guy, he pretended he was going to sign Nik Kronwall's shirt and Nik was amazingly down to Earth. He was chatting with these Swedish tourists for like 30 minutes. Great guy. Hossa was cool too. I also met Darren Helm and I said, "Boy, you just keep skatin' don't ya? And hittin' everything that moves." He was like, "It's all I gotta do."

The autograph on the top left is Lilja's. On there is also Flip, Drapes, Maltby, Ericsson, Sammy and Kopecky as well as Dats, Nik, Lilja and Helm.

That's pretty cool. I'am so jealous that's for sure.. Good to hear that you enjoyed the game
