Fin I love how you still remember my "Shawn Micheals" Drake references and that's why we've had trouble with Anaheim, no Lilja for them to focus on, not a whole lot of lookers on the Wings! dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 Worst game 7 ever? I jokingly said to a couple of friends before the game that the Pens would win 7-1. Never did I imagine that I would be this close to being right. Hopefully the Wings-Ducks won't be this one-sided.. or if it is it will be in the Wings favor. Cern 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 Hopefully the Wings-Ducks won't be this one-sided.. or if it is it will be in the Wings favor. I seriously doubt it. Even when we've played like ass it's been at best a one-goal game - one granted by the refs and another after three overtimes. For all the complaints of our back end this season it's not a glaring weakness the way it is for the Caps. Barring some kind of spectacular collapse of our blue line, goalie, AND our forwards' defensive play I wouldn't bank on being on the recieving end of a blowout by any stretch. In any case, the Penguins are more similar to the Wings in that they dominated shots and possession all series, they were overdue for a game like this. FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) Nah,this happens when the other team doesn't bring it. Surely I would've liked to see game 7 OT... Fin I love how you still remember my "Shawn Micheals" Drake references and that's why we've had trouble with Anaheim, no Lilja for them to focus on, not a whole lot of lookers on the Wings! I remember this one incident when Lilja played against the Ducks,he suddenly thought he was too sexy for the puck. Then Selanne scored. Mike 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 I'd hate to be a Caps fan at that game. All that money and you get a crap game.
Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 What I'm seeing right now is why having home-ice-advantage is so important especially for a game seven. Even if you lose you get to hear the crowd cheer them off and thank them for a great season.
Cern 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 At least they cheered them off. Most other places the fans would be throwing garbage onto the ice.
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 2008-09 Norris Trophy winner (according to a surprising amount of LGW posters) Mike Green: 1 goal in 14 games, -5 in the playoffs, -3 tonight. Still don't want him on my team unless he spends a year in Grand Rapids first.
