Do you wonder why that is? It is because our young hawks have stoped them from doing so. You are 3 games into the series, why wouldnt you bring your best, what are you waiting for. I can say the same thing, the hawks havn't brought their best yet, you know the game that they played vs Calgary and vancouver. But let me guess you are gonna say Vancouver and Calgary suck and that is exactly what i think of Ducks and Columbus.

I'll tell you why that is. Calgary and Vancouver were banged up. The Hawks have brought their best. Now if you look at who is injuried in this series (and don't counter with that overpaid bum Sopel for the Hawks) then you will understand and fast why these games are even close. Now everyone on the Hawks boards knows why I am here............What's your excuse?

Well, I can't be angry after this loss (mostly because I vented all my anger after Detroit went down by three). We overcame the first period adversity and got into the game and another chance. However, it seemed obvious to me in the last minutes of the third, and the start of overtime, that Chicago simply wanted it more. It seemed like they controlled the play and Detroit was just chasing them around.

I am happy that we came back. I am not happy that we seemed to be uninterested afterward. We'll just take game #4. Lets go Red Wings!

...Oh dear. I am a pessimist and I am showing optimism. I need a shower.

I am not worried one bit. Kron's atomic hit on Aflac was all worth it. but to get a misconduct was BS

From start to finish The calls where premeditated against the wings. O'Halloran has it in for the Wings

4 double minors in the first??!! Well done buttman. you and the league gave this win for the Hawks. but the rest of the games are ours!

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody,

This is the conference finals. Both teams have had to play great in order to get here. They have beat out the other 13 teams in the conference and are the last 2 left standing. Chicago got a bit of help tonight with the 11 minutes of powerplay time in the 1st period which really threw our lineup out of whack, not only with Kronner out, but also we were not able to roll our 3rd and 4th lines like we should have, and that hurt us the rest of the game. But still, Chicago is no pushover. I think the Wings will take this in 5, because Chicago HAD to win this game at home. Now they will be all happy they took a game at home and will not come with as much umph as they did in game 3. The Wings will be peeved at the amount of time they were on the PK, and will tighten up defensively. Chicago will need to press to even get into the zone, which will lead to odd-man rushes for the Wings. Wings win Sunday 5-1.

Mmm, you gotta watch that Logic Thing. Wings are doomed. Wings are lazy and they suck....which is just about what some of our "fans" are saying.

Meanwhile, I hope you're right about Sunday and the Wings' attitude!

Just about to say something along those lines. Try to provide some insightful opinions, rather than try to say douchebag remarks. There have been some very classy hawk fans to come on the site, try to follow suit.

If you were talking Ducks and Sharks' fans, I'd have to agree. We've had some great posters come in from those persuasions. But I have yet to see a Hawks' fan here that is even logical or reasonable. Maybe I'm confusing their names here, but right now, neeuuooooo..... :nonono:

Everybody, just not you, needs to understand that O'Halloran didn't make that call. Neither ref did. It was a linesman who decided Havlat was injured...

Yeah, maybe they should have all talked about it but that NEVER happens. Anyway, we need t6o move on and off of O'Halloran for a change.

I don't know about that. I think they are just incompetent, with a touch of underdogitis.

As Vladifan said, Let's get over it and just move on!

There are all kinds of reasons for us to be optimistic concerning this series.

Let them bring it on. The Wings are pissed and will overcome anything thrown at them.

Go Wings!!!

Dont buy into this linesman made the call trash.

The linesman can tell the Ref what he sees, but it is the refs decision to make the call.

Both refs saw this play and we saw the result.

Trying to dodge responsability is exactly why the NHL is such trash.

Sure lets blame someone else.

We're equally matched in your own fantasies.

You still haven't gotten over the fact you're not playing Vancouver or Calgary. A natural feeling considering how you've never seen your beloved team have any kind of real playoff run. It only follows that you'd overreact and overrate your team at the first sign of success.

We've played you at 75% full power and were still a shot away from going up 3-0.

Your team has played as well as you can. There is no higher level for the Hawks than what they've already shown. Unfortunately for you, it won't be enough.

Well said. If last night was their best effort - a game in which they gave up 3 goals in a row in identical fasion, a game in which the refs made us play almost the entire game without our #3 d-man, a game in which we didn't play our Hart and Selke trophy nominee...

And they pulled out a win in OT. Well, if that's the best they can do, they are in trouble.

There's new news on this. At least it was to me. And that is that the refs do make the final call. I did not know this nor did I read about the ultimate decision. For that I apologize, and I also did this on another thread. But methinks it's still time to move on. :)

I'm just curious, what with your cities inferiority complex when it comes to hockey? It's disturbing, really.

"Detroit Sucks" basically mean "Our town sucks harder".

What's interesting to me about the effect of the Chicago fans on that game is that possibly the refs were affected the most by that crowd. I was hoping all that rabid hype would have a negative effect on the Hawks' play, but I think not.

The NHL just may become a fourth or fifth-ranked sport if they keep this s*** up.

And Shore - I agree on your call on "Detroit Sucks". "They" say they do it just to razz us but why bother if you don't feel inferior to the other team? Why not make up some positive holler for your own team?

Tommorrow is the 1 year anniversary of the Wings 4-0 Game 1 win in the Stanley Cup Final. Let's get some good karma going for a big Game 4 win in this year's Conference Final!

Thus I say our posts to win thread should be 2408.

1 down three to go , all in a row.

Detroit Sucks

Post of the day!

If you really think these teams are evenly matched, I'm going to start laughing. There's not a single player on the Blackhawks who is better than a player on the Red Wings. The Red Wings have more depth than the Hawks could even hope for. The Hawks can't defend against the Wings because they don't know who to be covering. You don't have enough guys to cover Franzen, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Cleary, Lidstrom, Samuelsson, Filpulla, Hudler, Hossa, and the list goes on and on.

The Hawks are failing on two fronts. First, Detroit isn't Calgary or Vancouver. You make turnovers and give the puck away, and Detroit is going to continue to capitalize on those mistake until they make you pay. And frankly, Chicago being such a young team - they've been making A LOT of those mistakes. Second, we have the most offensive depth of almost any team. You can cover all of our big name guys.. but we'll still have someone on the third or fourth line who's perfectly capable of scoring. And then you'll be stuck running around trying to find something to do to cover THOSE guys.

Face the facts, man. Detroit is more experienced, much deeper, and better suited for the playoffs than the Hawks are at this time. It doesn't matter what you do.. the Wings are capable of finding a way around it - and they don't ever let the opposing team get into their heads. They're experienced enough to know not to get rattled.. so they don't. They stay calm and they keep playing their game.

I don't feel remotely threatened by the Hawks. Why? Because this is nowhere near an even matchup. Anaheim was an even matchup. The Hawks are just getting schooled. So you go on and continue making fun of the city. We'll go on and continue lifting Stanley Cups over our heads.

One of your redwing fan buddies stated that the Hawks barely beat the wings in game 3.... profanity must make you feel like a bigman...

Ref's handing the Hawks the game by not calling penalties on the Hawks and abusing their whistles by calling WAY too many on the Wings.

I'm a Blackhawk fan, but I don't even have to be a homer to say this post is ridiculously false.

As a matter of fact the Blackhawks match up with the Wings as well as anybody when comparing individual talent. The Wings have all the great players you mentioned, while the Hawks have Kane, Toews, Havlat, Sharp, Versteep, Bolland, Ladd, Keith, Seabrook, etc. The reality is both teams have a lot of depth throughout their lineup; I will concede this however: you guys have more depth across your blue line.

It took the Hawks all season (against you guys) and 14 games of playoff hockey to realize they HAVE to put pressure on the puck instead of letting teams gain entry to the zone without any resistance. The Hawks had several chances to beat the Wings during the regular season, but couldn't hold leads because they would NOT pressure the puck and get aggressive on the forecheck. The result were several high percentage scoring chances as your elite players had room to maneuver and open passing lanes in the offensive zone. If anybody plays you guys they way we did until game 2 of this series their going to get beat more often than not. Your team is just that talented.

The crux of the 'Hawks potential success relies on pressuring the puck, eliminating TOs, having clean line-changes, and avoiding Detroit's ability to creat oddman rushes. In game 2 they did a much better job of pressuring the puck (in 5 on 5 but I'd still like them to pressure more on the power play as well), and the result was a well contested game that the Hawks lost on a mindnumbing TO. In front of the home crowd, they did a great job in all 4 facets aside from the last 7 minutes of the 2nd period (this team has a propensity to stand around after goals, thus giving them up in bunches). If the Hawks keep this up they definately have a chance to win this series.

You were absolutley right on one front however; you guys are NOT the Canucks or the Flames. If we play the rest of this series like we did against those teams the series will be over in 5 games. But as a Hawk fan I am optimistic as we are finally starting to do the things I've been waiting for all season. That at least gives us a chance.

It should be a great series from here on out as both teams are immensely talented. Hopefully Datsyuk will be able to play for you guys, as will Havlat and Khabby for us. As a fan I'd hate to see us deprived of seeing the best players on the ice. If only Kronwall had leveled Matt Walker instead. He would have done us a favor.

And one more thing; here's to seeing a game where neither team has more than 3 PP chances. I'm sick and tired of both sides bitching about the referrees and the bothced calls, non-calls, or favoritism perceived to exist toward either team. It's got beyond tolerable.
