tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 I heard he was a healthy scratch, and i also heard he might be injured... Whats the reason for him not being in the lineup? I didnt get a chance to watch him this year but is this not a big blow to the pens depth?

flip 5 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 He's been a healthy scratch, as far as I know. He had a terrible regular season. The drop-off from last season to this one was pretty stark. Of course, for at least half the season, Malkin (whom Sykora owes his paycheck to) was taking shifts with Crosby, and the Pens downgraded from Malone to Fedotenko or Matt Cooke, who effectively split time on the second line with Malkin this season. tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Sykora has been very bad since Michelle Obstruction left. Hard to believe he could be that bad, with all this hype about "experience" for the pens, hes not even good enough to make the fourth line? Especially with his decent scoring touch you'd think he'd be in there... Or maybe i might be churching him up a little to much as i havnt watched him play a single game this season. Marty Midnight 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Hard to believe he could be that bad, with all this hype about "experience" for the pens, hes not even good enough to make the fourth line?... He can't fore check or back check, and he can't win puck battles along the boards, so when he stooped scoring it was just a matter of time.
ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 He is, in a word or two, pretty terrible. When Satan got back from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Sykora was the odd man out with their seven-D system of player dressing.

He leeched goals in a slower system. Once they sped up their game, he couldn't keep up.
RememberStevieY 5 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Petr Sykora been out the last 2 rounds. The pens have been starting Miroslav Satan in his place
