Anyone going? its at 4pm on the river front by the Joe......you dont need a ticket to be there but you need faith and support. The Wings are going to need everyone support to help them win. If you D!are going, I think we all should wear red!

nbc already said they will not give the rights so the bars will be packed down there.

there will be no viewing at hart plaza or outside like at Mellon

Riverwalk Party set for Game 5 at JLA

Detroit Red Wings

Jun 4, 2009, 7:23 PM EDT

DETROIT -- Join us for the pre-game 5 Hockeytown Riverwalk Party outside of Joe Louis Arena on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. EDT and will include food, beer, music and interactive activities for the whole family.

The party is free (with the exception of food & beverage) and open to the general public. You do not need a Red Wings ticket for Game 5 to attend. So join us for some pre-game fun and entertainment and root your Red Wings on.

This was on detroitredwings.com! I do not know about the viewing, if they dont oh well...I not giving up on the Wings. These are The Detroit Red Wings, so what if they lost 2 games, now its a good series and we still have 2 games to win. Just show up and show them your support. LETS GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all part of a giant conspiracy by the NHL to make it look like Detroit has no fans. They gave games 3 and 4 to VS so the Pens could show it outside....

WARNING: SARCASM

Seriously.. what is with NBC? Forcing the back to backs in the first games, and not allowing the show outside. Fans are going to watch it regardless, what difference does it make if their all staring at one screen. Would it screw with their ratings or something.

Anyways, enjoy the festivities.

why does ther have to be "rights" to show a game outside??? i dont get it

because thats hundreds of people watching the game which would somehow lessen the ratings... albeit i don't have a box so my viewing doesn't count anyways

I already bumped the thread for Joe Vision, but it would seem like NBC would be against Joe Vision as well...

on the radio they said affirmative NBC is not budging... but they might be able to strike a deal with cbc if the wings win tomorrow (for tuesday)

Hope they can get it going for you. It's always a ton of fun being outside the Igloo watching away games with fellow fans. Makes it feel like they're playing at home. Saturday was just sick though.. leaving the arena and seeing over 10K already out there cheering. If they do have it at the Joe on Tuesday where would they put it, or would they just sell tickets and do Joe Vision?
