ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I've decided that if the Wings win tomorrow night, I'm going to celebrate by splurging on a winter classic throwback jersey. I've been eyeing these since I first saw someone wearing one at the Joe. I'm just wondering if these are a limited edition item that will be harder to find as time goes on, or if they will continue to be produced throughout the year? With all the other things going on in life right now, I might have to wait a bit after our victory in order to pick one up. Thanks, and GO WINGS!!! ok ok, I'm gonna get one no matter what happens at the game tomorrow
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 you can always get them here.... and for a cheap price SPORTSk.com
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I sure hope they are limited as it would be kinda dumb for them to keep selling it after suggesting this, and fraudulent, IMO. That's what I was told. I tried to get an authentic for $349 (no customization) and they were all sold out, back in like Feb/March/April, so I had to settle with the Premiere for $160 - $180'ish (with custom Lidstrom back/no nameplate). Here's one of them right now.. http://www.sportsk.com/chblwiclje.html You can get it customized and it's well worth it. I'd call and ask if they have it in stock before purchasing. Might take a few weeks to get the lettering done if you have it customized. I would just advise against the Chinese knockoffs.

Theophany 110 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I don't think throwback jerseys as a whole are limited-production, but the Winter Classic ones, to the best of my knowledge, are. Winter Classic sweaters being ones with the Winter Classic patch on them, the throwbacks being those without.
ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 Thanks for the info, I better get on it then I'm not really looking at getting an authentic (too much money), just a premier.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 Not sure where you are located... but FanaticU in Garden City and Royal oak (i think that is the town 13 and greenfield) also are very easy to work with and will get you whatever you want! I recommend them as a brick and mortar store and then sportsk as the online option

OsGOD 3 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I live right by the Royal Oak/Berkley location. Do you know what their prices are like? they are not as cheap as the online version but in some cases you can get the jersey sameday (aka already made up) but right now sportsk is very reasonable for a replica WC jersey FanaticU might even have a sale going on because of game7 tomorrow i would call and see
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I would seriously just get SportsK. I live in California, he's in Michigan, and I got it in like 2 weeks with the custom lettering. When I ordered one for NHL.com back in December (had to cancel thanks to saving up to move out) they said even if it was ordered after the WC it would still take 4-6 weeks. I rarely outright just specifically suggest people go with something but SportsK is ******* awesome.

FanaticU does their own inhouse lettering (profession and authentic) so if they have the lettering kit in and the sized jersey he/she needs they can have it done in 3-4 business days. but... if they have to order the kit by all means go online to get it. I only suggest FanaticU to those living in around metro detroit because of instant gratification for the most part.
ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 Thanks for all the great advice everyone. One more question: which is the more authentic look, a nameplate or having the letters sewn on directly? Sportsk.com offers both styles.

I have no idea how long SportsK would take for someone in the area since mine was shipped and unlike Amazon, Dell, or large companies, they don't give you like a step-by-step status update each time something happens. Edit: SEWN. Not nameplate, to the above post. Nameplates just came with premade WC player jerseys and they were NOT authentic.
