But, here is a GM with his own reasons for having no interest; from Toronto Star.

Burke said it is wrong that the 28-year-old Heatley, who is only one year into a six-year, $45 million (U.S.) contract extension with the Sens, or his agents, J.P. Barry and Stacey McAlpine, leaked his request to get out of the Canadian capital to the media.

"For a player to quietly and professionally ask for a trade, that's fair ball for me. For a player to pop off and say he wants out or leak it, in my mind you are now no longer interested in your team. If you've done that you've handicapped them, you've handcuffed the GM," said Burke.

"As long as you are on that team, you owe them to maximize the asset, and once you've taken that step, sorry I don't accept that."

For Heatley's price no, but many seem to forget that regardless of the rather bad season Heatley just had... He could very well be a top 5 forward in the league at full potential, maybe better. The way I see it, he is the second best sniper in the league behind Ovie.

i have always thought he had that killer instinct we would need in the playoffs.

what the hell... we tried out Hossa... might as well give killer a chance. its not like we will be playing the Sens in the finals anytime soon :D

The only changes that will be made will be if we keep Hossa, and then we'll just be letting a few people go and bringing in low level players.

The Wings are already have the best talent in the world, what we need is some grittier, energy producing 4th or 3rd liners.

And even that we don't NEED, our players are great and have few weaknesses. But you HAVE to have new blood each year or your team will stagnate.

Go for a PKer, that's all we'll see I think.

Yet he had no problems with dealing for Pronger in Anaheim...

Burke's probably just bitter because he found out that Toronto wasn't a team Heatley would go to. If I recall correctly, Pronger actually said that he wanted to leave Edmonton through the media - he never contacted Kevin Lowe at all at the time.
