Snazzy 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 LGW's have 200 members logged in on average... I am glad that all 200 members don't make stupid threads after playing NHL 09. It would make this forum miserable. It's miserable enough when ****** bags make threads like this.
Snazzy 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Obviously, I would love to see prediction come true. Hawks blew away whatever chance they had when they kept Huet instead of the Bulin'. Hawks has a one year window to win the cup before having a salary cap meltdown. Hopefully next year this time we'll be thanking you for giving us Duncan Keith since there is no way Chi-Town can afford him.

How much you want to bet that I've been more accurate in discussing and predicting things over the years than 99% of the people here? I'm no slappy. I've been around the game all my life. I don't ride hype trains and I call it how I see it. You might have said the same thing to me all season when I defended Osgood and said quote me on it in June. I was also one of the only people early on thinking the Finals would go to 7 games and be a tossup while most of the board was calling it for the Wings in 4 or 5. I'm not so confident in this to say "quote me on it in June" but I'm certainly more confident in it being more logical than many are suggesting.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion. Is it because you don't agree with his 2010 finanls predicition, or is it because he didn't pick the Wings?

Perhaps the other 459 current online members and viewers should make a new thread about their 2010 predictions. That'd sure make this forum interesting. lets go pavel 2 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Once you get past the headlines, I'm not so sure the Hawks are even going to be better than they were this past season, much less Cup finalists. Sure Hossa's a great signing, but as others have mentioned he's pretty much replacing Havlat ... statistically, Hossa was 40-31-71 and Havlat was 29-48-77, and Havlat had the better playoffs. At best I'd call that a wash. They also are losing their #1 goaltender ... Huet is a huge question mark. With Eager and Versteeg still unsigned, Kane, Toews, Burish, and Keith free agents after this season and Seabrook and Byfuglien the year after, they have little room to add anyone else, at least not for more than a year. Apart from the fact that their young guys are going to be a year older, I don't see a whole lot of improvement on the roster ... can the extra experience overcome what could be a big hole in between the pipes? I wouldn't bet money on it ... As for the Caps they have similar question marks in goal ... is Varlamov going to be the starter, or do they try Theodore again? The Pens exposed their lack of depth last year ... so far they've swapped Knuble for Fedorov, is that enough of an improvement? Again, I doubt it ...
8 Legged RedWing 367 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 I didnt even bother to read this thread. The title was enough for me. Hossa is our new ***** for 12 years. Nuff said.
KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Red Wings won the cup without Marian Hossa last year and Pens lost it with Hossa ... Pens won the cup without Hossa with probably losing 2 other players also with there backup goalie 2. Wings got the backup goalie from Pens and Hossa and lost the cup. 'Hawks got Hossa + Kopecky does not = Automatic cup lol.
Jericho613 74 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 I don't care how good the Hawks look offensively, Huet is still their goaltender. No chance of any stanley cup finals for the hawks until they get a better goalie.
