Zednik

I know people around here are throwing names left and right, on who Holland should pick up. But one name I havent heard is Richard Zednik. I think he would be great on the wing he makes roughly 1.7Mill why not make him an offer. I know he's not the bruiser everyone wants. But he can play the body and can put the puck in the net. Any thoughts?

I mentioned him in another thread, and then found out that he had gone to the KHL.

Peltonen is a guy who is incredibly cheap, could probably be relied upon for 30 points, and who does have heart. Taylor Pyatt is another guy I mentioned, who put up a 23-goal season in 06-07, and who has a very low cap hit (based on what he earned last season). I think these are some of the cheapest veteran FAs around who can be counted on to supply some offense.

I remember Peltonen 12 years ago when he was with Nashville. Showed promise at times, but also horribly inconsistent and injury prone. Has also had a history of off-the-ice incidents in the NHL and in Europe.

True. I think he got arrested with Belfour down in Florida, and Belfour apparently tried to bribe the arresting officer with 'one billion dollars'. They were both steaming drunk.

Not that I want Zednik, and this is a bit off topic. But if KHL wants to steal NHL players, then why can't NHL steal KHL players? If they give us any s***, just nuke their asses!

If the first letter of his last name is any indication he's going to be sweet in the playoffs!

Hahaha... awesome. And something I'd totally say to a cop while drunk.

Turns out I was confusing two events. The billion-dollar-bribe happened in Dallas in 2000, and he got hauled in with Peltonen in Florida a couple of years ago.

Hahaha I can't believe you've got a catalog of hilarious drunken incidents involving Belfour.

Peltonen has been great when playing in Europe or at least in Finland. He scored a hat trick in the gold medal game of the World Championships in '95. Then I thought that he would be the one who makes the biggest impact in NHL of the Peltonen-Koivu-Lehtinen line. It turned out to be just the opposite.
