Number19 159 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Is he still signed with Dallas? Is he retiring? Is he still recovering from injury? I haven't heard anything about him for a long time. I know we're fine on defense but this guy was a top offensive threat from the back end just a season or two ago.

PROBIE4PREZ 58 Report post Posted July 9, 2009 Sergei Zubov update Like Koivu, it appears Zubov is ready for a new challenge. After 12 seasons with the Dallas Stars, the soon-to-be 39-year-old defenseman is talking to other teams, as many as six or seven, about continuing his NHL career. It's believed the New York Rangers are among those teams. (Zubov played his first three NHL seasons with the Rangers, including the team's Cup-winning campaign in 1993-94.) "It's a process," Zubov's agent, Jay Grossman, told ESPN.com Wednesday. "This won't be happening right away." Zubov missed all but 10 games last season recovering from hip surgery, so it'll be interesting to see exactly what he fetches on the open market. Because he's over 35 years old, teams can be creative with a bonus package that can account for 7 percent of the salary cap. If healthy, he's still a dynamite puck-mover and power-play guy, not to mention a future Hall of Famer. source did that milk joke come from jerry seinfeld orwhat lol . Zubov could indeed be readying himself to say goodbye to Dallas or he simply could be moving to a better place. The unrestricted free agent will turn 39 on July 22, is coming off an injury-plagued season in which he played only 10 games and still is recovering from major hip surgery. As such, the Stars are in a wait-and-see mode with him. But, with free agency starting on July 1, Zubov could sign with any other team in the NHL. Dallas Morning News Google can be your friend.
