GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 That's why people are advocating bringing in guys like Grier, Malhotra, Prospal, Peca, and other veterans who have something to prove and may very well sign for cheap to get the opportunity to have that shot. Then why is Holland interested in Williams and Sykora? Sure I wouldn't mind Grier or Malhotra, but some of these other names aren't what we need right now. Holland has stated he wants to bring in a scorer first and foremost - then a grinder so that Abdelkader can play top minutes in GR. One of Prospal/Bertuzzi/Shanahan/Williams/Sykora/Satan/Comrie + One of Malhotra/Grier/Pyatt/Betts/Neidermayer/Peca I could live with one from each group, though I obviously like some better than others. However, on paper this team right now doesn't look that much better than the other top contenders. We need to add more grit and hunger. Basically the kinds of players who'll do anything to win the Cup. Exactly and that with injuries is what did us in this past year. It was ours if we wanted it and obviously we all didn't want it enough. Whatever it is, you know it when you see it. I want guys like Cleary, Flip, Hank, Helm and Osgood. Guys who show up in the playoffs like it is the end of the world and there is nothing, absolutely nothing, to be left on the ice. God, now I am getting disgusted with the whole thing all over.
