BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) Now a lot of people are in the same boat as me... They simply don't know what to think of Tavares... Bust or no bust? I don't know what to think of Tavares, because when you watch him play, he doesn't consistently dazzle you like other first rounders Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Crosby, Kane, and Stamkos do, but he just has a knack for finding the net, and comes out with some nice plays here and there... But his hockey sense is off the wall, he knows where to be at all time. The success that this guy got in juniors a long with a lot of experience may convince me that he will live up to the hype in the NHL. How do I see his rookie season ending up? Well it won't be along the lines of Crosby's or Ovechkin's (Although many people did say Crosby would be a bust)... But he won't be a bust... He'll get the nod as the Isles' go to guy early in the season and with that said... I predict he'll finish the season with Pat Kane like rookie numbers. FTR, I do believe that Hedman will get the Calder though, he's going to be a huge asset to Tampa. Edited August 15, 2009 by BeeRYCE

MotorCityMadness 388 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 My guess is he will prolly see some more production at first on the power play, but his game will begin to round out some as the season progresses and with that I see him netting somewhere in the 60-68 pt range.... under_par_00 45 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 I think he will be lucky to get 25 goals, probably a 20 goal scorer, who willstruggle a bit similar to Stamkos. He will grow into a great offensive talent though.
RusDRW 155 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 he needs to spend at leaft one more year in lower leagues. Since this is not the case I see around 20-30 points...

e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 Dang. I feel like I talk about the Isles as much as I do about the Wings these days.... Anywhooo... I am pretty excited to see how Tavares pans out. ...and I am planning to attend some games out on the Isle. He does seem to be more physically ready than Stamkos, and while I agree that he could use another year in the minors... when you're talking about the Isles and this type of signing... it just ain't gonna happen. As mentioned before, 50-60 point range. More goals than assists.
